ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gorris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: L. Orlowski, A. Skoulis, J. Thomas, and B. Gorris. <br />Mrs. 0'Rourke arrived at 7:35 p.m. <br />Absent: R. Tallon. <br />Also Present: City Engineer Deiehmann, <br />of Co?nissions Oring. <br />Assistant Law Director <br />Building Commissioner Conway, and Clerk <br />Dubelko arrived later. <br />II. REVIEnT ANID CORRECTION OF MIIVUTES : <br />The minutes of July 13, 1993 will be deferred lmtil the next meeting. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTTENr REQLTESTS.: <br />1) Stylin' Concepts, 29919 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal is to build an addition to an existing building and construct free <br />standing storage building behind adciition. <br />Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals on.July 7, 1993. <br />T. Phillips, builder presented plans. The proposal had been approved by the <br />Architectural Review Board and at that meeting it had been clarified that the <br />building is a light gray, not white. The developer had included all the <br />recommendations of both the P1arLnir;g Comnission and the Architectural Review <br />Board. Mr. Skoulis asked if the developer had brought .in samples of the <br />materials. Mr. Phillips explained that'the T1l1 that will be on the addition is <br />the same material that is on the existing building and he had submitted samples <br />of the shingles and the steel siding that will be on the detached building to the <br />Architectural Board. Mr. Orlowski clarified that there would be shingles on the <br />roof of both bui.ldings. J. Thomas moved to approve the proposal to build an <br />addition to Stylin' Concepts at 29919 Lorain Road incorporating all the <br />-suggestions of the Planning Gommission and those tha.t were incorporated in the <br />approval of the A.R.B., secondEd.by L. Orlowski, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Great Northern Dodge, 26100 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to alter facade of existing bu.ilding, install canopy an side entrance, <br />and construet display pads in front setback. <br />Heard by Architectural Review Board on June 16, 1993. <br />Heard by Board of Zoning Ap.peals on July 7, 1993. <br />Mr. Fee, architect, presented plans and explained that the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals had granted the variances that had been requesteda.Mr. Fee presented the <br />colored samples that were presented to the Architectural Review Board. Building <br />Commissioner Conway advised that the center sidewalk had to be removed as <br />recommended by the Architectural Review Board and that was made a condition of <br />the variance. There will be additional landscaping around the display pods. Mr. <br />Orlowski would like a more toned down red color. Mr. Fee advised that this red is <br />not as bright as the red that is on the building now and that there will be a lot <br />less red than there is now. Mr. Fee presented a sample of the existing red for <br />comparison. Mr. Orlowski would still like a more muted red. After some <br />discussion, it was decided to ask Mr. Sohn to re-review the color since the <br />Planning Commission would prefer a more muted red and his recommendations should <br />be forwarded to the B.Z.D.
