B. <br />Gomersall moved to grant Tire Ameri:ca, 25801 Lorain Road, their request for a <br />variance to ha.ve a second wall sign (one allowed); the 16 square foot variance <br />for total sign area allowed for the building; the 31 square foot variance allowed <br />for a business use; the variances to have a ground sign in the restricted 35 foot <br />triangular area; the variance to have a second free standing sign on one <br />property; and also to require that the ground sign be 10 feet ba.ck from the front <br />line and only 15 foot from the side l-ine in accordance with the Building <br />Commissioner's letter of July 26th, seconded by W. Request 37 square foot variance for area of tool <br />shed which exceeds 2% of the area of the rear yard. Violation of Ord. 90-125, <br />Section 1135.02(d)1.. . <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interestEd parties before the board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. and Mrs. Mulford. Chairman Gomersall noted tha.t this was a <br />small lot and at the time the board approved variance for the house, they had <br />stated that there should be no more variances. But this is such a small shed, the <br />members ha.d no problem with it. T. Koberna move to grant Ernest and Dorothy <br />Mulford, 5928 Porter Road, a 37 square foot variance for area of tool shed which <br />exceeds 2% of the area of the rear year, seconded by R. Gomersall, and <br />tmanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />3. Clark Oil, 28925 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to have two prohibited signs on <br />canopy (7 square feet each). Also request 94.5 squa,re foot variance for total <br />sign area allowed for a business use. Violations of Ord. 90-125, Sections <br />1163.12(j) and 1163.11(a). <br />Withdrawn at the beginning of the meeting by the representative because only <br />three members are present. <br />4. Request variance to change face on existing <br />prohibited pole sign and also a variance change the "Money Station" sign on that <br />sign. Al1 existing building/roof signs will be removed. Violation of Ord. 90-125, <br />Section 1163.22(a). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Holenbeck, sign contractor, who explained that they are going <br />change the logo on the pole sign and remove the money station sign below it. All <br />the roof signs will be remoVed. The members questioned this because a few months <br />ago they heard a request regarding a relocating the bank to Great Northern <br />Boulevard. Mr. Holenbeck stated that thi:s is atill pending, but it may not happen <br />for months. W. Purper moved to grant the request to National City bank, 26440 <br />Lorain Road, to change the fiace on the existing prohibited pole sign and also a <br />variance to change the money station sign-on that sign with the notation that <br />variances granted will be null and voYd on January 1, 1998. All the existing <br />building/roof signs will be removed, seconded by T. Koberna and unanimously <br />approved. Variance granted. <br />5.
