sale signs were posted inside the windows, not outside an the property. The only <br />time they use an "A" frame sign is to advertise for employees, but this is not <br />done frequently. Building Commissioner Conway advised that they had needed a 3 <br />foot setback variance for the sign, but the rest of the sign was in compliance. <br />It was clarified that there was a slight mound with landscaping around the sign. <br />Mr. Conway advised that the are .3 spaces over the required number of parking <br />spaces. Mr. Gorris clarified that the signage.indicating "Head in Parking Only" <br />applied to spaces 8 to 22. He asked if the "Stop Here on Red" sign would remain <br />for the stores across Sparky Lane even though the one Wendy's drive is being <br />eliminated. Mr. Deichmarm was not sure and would discuss this with Mr. Griffith. <br />Mr. Deichmann further advised Mr. Thoma.s that the he did not kmow of any cost <br />that the city might be incurring for this project. The members had no further <br />questions on this proposal. J. Thomas moved to approve the proposal to construct <br />the addition to Wendy's Restaurant and the reconfiguration of the parking area, <br />incorporating all the recommendations of the Architectural Review Board, the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals, as well as those of the Safety, Engineering and Building <br />Departments. The Commission also requests that the developer modify, in <br />cooperation with the Engineering Department, the landscaping near the Lorain Road <br />entrance to encourage more of a right,turn entrance into the development. Further <br />the Cornnission requests tlZat the Law'Department review the easement agreement and <br />pass it on to the B.Z.D. Committee with any recommendations that they might have, <br />seconded by L. Orlowski, and unanimously approved. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NffNUTES: (Heard at this point.) <br />There were no corrections to the minutes of March 22nd. L. Orlowski moved to <br />approve the minutes of Aiarch 22, 1994, as-submitted, seconded by K. 0'Rourke, and <br />unanimously approved. In the minutes of April 26.th, Mr.. Miller had asked that on <br />page 5, half way down, change the word could to would. "Mr. Miller asked if the <br />display.would spill over into the truck turnaround area ..." L. Orlowski moved to <br />approve the minutes of April 26th as.corrected, seconded by J. Thomas. Orlowski, <br />Thomas, Alston, and Gorris, yes. Mrs. 0'Rourke abstained. <br />IV. Gorris reminded the members that the <br />approval had stipulated that the sidewalks be extended from Moen up to the <br />Apartments, even though part of the land ha,s not been developed. City.Engineer <br />Deichmarm advised that there is an extensive punch list on the work in the right <br />of way, and there is going to be a meeting to address these items. <br />Regarding the smoke house ori Mastick, and-the Commission had.asked for a ruling <br />from the Law Department. Assistant Law Director Dubelko stated that the Law <br />Director noted that it was unusual to ask for a special ruling on a residential <br />property, however he sa.w no objection to it referred to Planning Cornission. <br />2
