r
r ? d
to be that large so that a truck could pull in on either side_ to unload it,
because typically they deliver an empty container and take back the full one. In
response to other questions, he explained that that they are not licensed to
handle asbestos; that pickup trucks bring in the debris from the construction
sites; and that there is an adequate concrete pad shown on the plan for the
B.F.I. trucks to pull in. Mr. Thoma,s noted that this company does small
renovations, they do not tear down buildings. Mr. Orlowski questioned several of
the elevations shown on the plan and it was verified that there are about 2 feet
between the new pavement and the existing grade. Mr. Orr did not believe the 93
elevation is correct, and stated that this plan is an architectural plan, the
engineering plan will be completed by next week. Since Nir. Orlowski is concerned
about the grades and drainage problems, Nir. Orr explained the plan to him
privately. Mr. Dillon, a resident, was concerned about allowing dump trucks to
come in and dtunp in that area. Mr. Orlowski explained that he was proposing a 20
by 34 foot dumpster enclosure which will have three gates and which could
presiunably hold three 40 cubic yard dumpsters; however, Mr. Orr had advised that
the three gates are on it so that a truck could drop off an empty dumpster and
then pick up the full one. He advised that Mr. Orr had stated that the pick up
trucks would bring the debris in. Mr. Gorris questioned if the dumpster enclosure
would come under business regulations. Assistant Law Director Dubelko advised
that, since there was no comment from the Building Commissioner, it could be
assumed that there was no problem with the code. Mr. Thomas stated that this
dtnnpster was nicely enclosed instead of being out in the open. Mrs. 0`Rourke
pointed out that it was in the middle of the property, not in the back. B. Gorris
moved to refer the Bennet Dover Home Remodelers, 29341 Lorain Road proposal to
convert exi.sting dwelling into a sales office and including the construction of
an addition to the rear of the building to the Architectural Review Board for
their input, seconded by J. Thomas, and unanimously approved.
3) Adon Equipment Co., 23904 Lorain Road.
Proposal to construct additian to existing storage building.
Mr. Schmidt, owner, and Mr. Liggett, architect, presented plans to add on to an
existing storage building. One bay of the existing building will have to be
removed in order to give circulation around all sides of the building; one bay
will remain and the rest of the existing building is open. The retention system
and paving had been approved previously for the entire building including the
addition. This will be a pole barn and will be sided with white pre-finished
metal siding to match the existing. He explained to Mr. Orlowski that the
addition is 30 feet off the western property line which is the wall of the
storage facility. They presented pictures of the existing. There will be 3
overhead doors with a man door beside each on 3 elevations, north, south, and
west. Paving has been approved and will be installed this spring and will be
about 20 feet wide around the perimeter of the building and the rest of the rear
property will remain gravel. They will be eliminating the 3 semi-trailers that
are now used for storage. Since this building is 300 feet from Lorain Road and is
a duplicate of what is there, Mr. Gorris suggested that the proposal could go
directly to the B.Z.D. Cornittee since a review by the Architectural Board would
not be necessary. B. Gorris moved to approve the Adon Equipment Company proposal,
23904 Lorain Road, to construct an addition to an existing storage building,
seconded by L. Orlowski. Roll call on motion: Gorris, Orlowski, 0'Rourke, Tallon,
and Thomas, yes. Ms. Alston abstained. Motion carried.
4) Christian Meeting Corporation, Northwest corner of Clague Road and Delmere Drive.
Proposal to construct chapel.
3
