ROLL CALL: <br />Chairmau Gorris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. - <br />Present: P. Miller, L. Orlowski, K O'Rourke, R. Tallon, J. Thomas, and B. Gorris. <br />Absent: D. Alston. <br />Also Present: City Engineer P. Deichmann, Building Commissioner Conway, and Clerk of <br />Coinmissions Oring. <br />Assistant Law Director Dubelko arrived later. <br />II• REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF 1VIINUTES: The review of the minutes was deferred until later in the meeting. <br />III. BUII,DING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Rini Rego Marketplace, 4700 Great Northern Boulevard. <br />Proposal to add vestibule, remodel store front elevarions, and rebuild truck dock. <br />Heard by the Architectural Review Board June 22, 1994. ' <br />Mr. Saleet, architect, presented plans and advised that they had been approved by the - <br />Architectural Review Board. He explained that the vestibule addition would be 11 by 12 feet or <br />132 square feet. The front elevations will be remodeled with a,vew canopy, new glass, and new <br />brick to match the existing. They will be adding two compressor trailers to the north and west <br />side which will be screened with a board on board fence. The compactor will be relocated and the <br />existing truck dock will be renovated. He clarified that there were 3 colors of brick existing and <br />they intend to match the lighter sliade. The members agreed that this would be an improvement. <br />L. Orlowski moved to accept the Rini Rego Marketplace, 4700 Great Northem Boulevard, <br />proposal to add vestibule, remodel store front elevations and rebu.ild the truck dock incorporating <br />all the recommendations of the Architectural Review Board, Safety, Engineering, and Planning <br />Commissions, seconded by P. Miller, and unanimously approved: 2) Best Buy, 5116 to 5152 Great Northern Plaza South <br />Proposal to rebu.ild 5 units of the existing. plaza which will exceed the existing rear building line. <br />Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals 7une 9, 1994. <br />Mr. Papandreas, representing the owners of the shopping center, explained that the variances <br />were granted for the non-conforming buil.ding, the lot eoverage ratio, and the variance for the <br />sign was reduced by about 21% , from 240 square feet down to 200 square feet. They have met <br />with both the board of the Country Club Condominium Association and later with the members <br />at which time they gave the same presentation that had been given to the Planning Commission. <br />After a discussion with its the members, the association submitted a proposaL He cwmmarized a <br />letter from Biskind Development responding to this proposal with the following agreements: to
