CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID ARCHITECTUR.AL REVIEW BOARD MINUTES--FEBRUARY 16, 1994 I. ROI,L CALL : Acting Chairman Gallagher called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. Present: T??Gallagher, S. Krieger, and Y. Sohn. Absent: ?. Zergott Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring. II. REVIE[i AND CORRECTION OF MIN[JTES : Reviewed at the end of the meeting. III. SIGNS: 1) Oldsmobile of North Olmsted (formerly Halleen Truck Lot). 27871 Lorain Road. Walls signs. Renovation plans approved January 20, 1993. Building Comissioner Conway advised that the sign on the front and the one on the west elevation.had been approved on January 20, 1993. The developer had advised that they are not installing a sign on the east. Mr. Gallagher stated that if they want to install one on the east side it would have to be presented again. iV. OLD BUSINESS: Discussion of existing signs by members of the Board. Discussed at the end of the meeting. V. NEW BUSINESS: 1) Bennet Dover Home Remodelers, 29341 Lorain Road. Proposal to convert existing dwelling into a sales office including the construction of an addition to the rear of the building. Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals January 19, 1994. Mr. Orr and his assistant F represented Bennet Dover. Mr. Orr explained that they would be constructing an addition to the rear of the building as well as filling in a porch on the back and side of the house. They intend to change the roof pitch from 4/12 to a 6 or 8/12 pitch to give more depth and to rework the the bay wi.ndow in the front and change the roof line over that. The roof will also be extended over the handicapped ramp in fronte He presented a picture of the existing house which illustrated that there will be few changes to the front. The roof shingles will be Certainteed, Hearthstead, in Desert Blend to match the existing stone on the house and the brick on the piers and Anderson windows with white frames will be used. The addition, the east side and the back of the existing house and the back of the garage will be sided with an A.B.C. Seamless steel siding in either a wicker tone or a weathered cedar and the siding will be carried down to grade. The wood columns on the front will be painted a brown tone and the brick piers will be in a neutral color to compliment the stone. The gutters will probably be a darker brown. The fascia will be capped in alumirnun to match the existing. The existing wall.lights on the house will only be used when they are there at night. Tao pole lights wi11 1
