J C
if
that the Board would have the right to deny any that would be considered obnoxious and asked
the other members' opinion. Mrs. Krieger wondered how they could decide which could stay, she
liked the one on Ponderosa. Mr: Gallagher stated that he wanted to make sure all of these would
come before the Board. Mr. Conway stated that they would all come before the board regardless
of how the members vote on this request. Mr. Sohn again stated it would set a precedent and
there could be a mural on every other building. Mr. Conway stated that they could take the same
positiou as they do with back lit awnings, there is nothing in the code that says they cannot be
iustalled, but the boards have a policy of disapproving them. B. Zergott moved to approve the
Ponderosa Mural, seconded by Y. Sohn. Roll call on motion: Zergott and Sohn, no. Gallagher and
ICrieger, yes. Motion failed to pass and the proposal will proceed to Planniug Commission. Mr.
Zergott stated that the vote was for this proposal only, but he would like to have some sort of
policy on murals in general and hoped that Planning Commission would make a standard policy.
Mr. Gates, au arclutect who was observiug the meetiug, stated this is a relatively small area, but
someone could always come in with a mural on a three story building. Mr. Gallagher would still
like to review each muraL
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
?9. a.
B. Zergott,
B.
