.,' <br />, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOA:RD <br />NIINLJTES-JLTLY 5,1994 <br />CONFERENCE ROOM 4:30 P.M. <br />SPECIAL MEETING - - - <br />Prior to the meeting the members discussed a minor change that Building Commissioner Conway <br />had sent to.Mr. Zergott for Red Robin Inns which will be moving into in the former Chester's <br />Restaurant. Mr. Mongello, architect for.the proposal, was present. Mr. Conway explained that <br />tliey will be removing the blue awning and addiug a glass canopy and will be in-filling with two <br />courses of soldier brick and adding new glass doors and panels. Currently there is blue tile and <br />brick on the oornice whick will be covered with Dryvit. Mr. Mongello presented a color rendering <br />showing a fiber-optic lightiug strip around the building. Mr. Conway explained that this is <br />basica;ly what is on the mall. Mr. Zergott was concemed that this might be similar to the neon <br />tubes that the board has been trying to eliminate. Mr. Gallagher was not sure wkat color it was to <br />be; but stated that the color could be up to the board. Mr. Gallagher stated that this was not as <br />bright as the neon tube and is a soft light. In the picture it appeared to be red. Since the tube was <br />only about 1/4 of an inch, Mr. Gallagher did not believe that this red was too bright, especially in <br />this location. The members had no problem with this request.. I. Sohn. <br />II• REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The minutes were deferred until the next regularly scheduled meeting. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />With building plans <br />N. Heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals June 9, 1994. r <br />Refened by Planuing Commission June 28, 1994. <br />Mr. Papandreas gave a brief history of Plaza South and of the what had happened at previous <br />meetings. He explained that after meeting with the Country Club Gondominium Association, <br />agreements were reached regarding screening and .many of the condominium owners' complaints <br />are being addressed. Variances had been grant,e.d for lot coverage, distance from property lines,
