The oath was
administered to Mr. Halleen, the owner, who explained tha.t a driver coming from
the west cannot see the front wall sign: Mr. Gomersall believed that the pole
sign could be seen. Mr. Purper noted that there is a large blank wall on the west
side and that both Kenny King and Pizza Hut on either side_of them have two wall
signs. W. Purper moved to grant the request 'of Oldsmobile of North Olmsted
27871-81 Lorain Road, for a variance to ha.ve a second wall sign and a 3 square
foot variance for total sign area for a wall sign that exceeds the permitted,
seconded by R. Gomersall, and ananimously approved. Variances granted.
James and Nancy Blagg, 4665 Fleharty
Request for variance (1123.12). Request 7 foot location variance from rear
property line to replace detached garage. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section
1135.02(c)(2). (Note: variance granted for front porch 11/5/92)
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was
administered to Mr. and Mrs. Blagg and Mr. and Mrs. Weaver, their next door
neighbors who had sent a letter objecting the variance on the basis that it would
detract from the attractiveness and market value of their property; that a 3 feet
distance between the garage and the rear property line does not provide
sufficient space for storing garbage cans, etc.; and it would place the garage
out of aligrunent of other garages. Mr. Gomersall had visited the site and could
not Lmderstand their objections since this variance would place the garage close
to the shopping center fence, further away from their property, and would not
break up the lot as much. The Weavers believed that there would be too much
cement. The members had visited the site and did not believe this garage was out
of line with the others. Mr. Gomersall believed that a new garage would enhance
the Weaver's property. Building Commissioner Conway advised tha.t there was an
error on the agenda and the figures were reversed, they would be 3 foot off the
line and would need a 7 foot variance. W. Purper moved to grant the 7 foot
location variance from the rear property line to replace detached garage for
James and Nancy Blagg, 4665 Fleharty, seconded by T. Koberna, and unan;mously
approved. Variance granted.
JoArm Fabrics. 26145 Great Narthern ShoDDin-a Center.
Request for variance (1123.12).
