`? .
members had no problem with the materials. Mr. Zergott questioned if the height of the mansard
was going to be changed so that the roof top units would be visible, and Mr. Stoyanov stated that,
if anytlung , they miglit be slightly higher. He presented a cut of the two types of ground lights
that they are looking into aud explained that they would use a metal halide. It was also suggested
that only 4 cars should be displayed on the pads. B. Zergott moved to accept the Saturn proposal
as presented with the above noted suggestions and also recommended that a representative of
Toyota should call Mr. Yager about the design of the Toyota building and to stipulate that when
the Toyota building returned it should be a formal presentation, seconded by S. Krieger, and
unanimously approved. Mr. Yager advised that if he canuot reach an agreement with Toyota with
the character issues of the building, perhaps the Saturn might have to be flexible, since there does
need to be a compauion slup. He repeated that it migbt be better if the Toyota people called him
so that Mr. Stoyauov could be removed from it. It was clarified that the Architectural Review
Board ouly suggested to Planniug Commission or to the Board of Zoning Appeals, they do not
have to agree with their suggestions. Mr. Stoyanov stated that if they had not pursued this with
their first proposal which was tumed down by Toyota, he would not be as concerned about what
course would be taken if Architectural Review Board did not approve it.. Mr. Yager stated that
he has worked with corporations before and frequently the corporate office has no idea of what a
particular situation is. He would like them to see the facility dowu the street (Lexus and Infinity).
1VIi. Yager then clarified that he would like to see a visual connection of the canopy, it did not
have to be repeated necessarily, but some material consistency between the two buildings was
needed, perhaps even chaugiug the colwnns to a pipe like structure similar to the canopy
construction. He stated that what was supposedly their national theme is all glass, and that is not a
theme. Mr. Stoyanov stated that they wanted to high light the cars, not the building. Mr. Yager
stated that he just wanted him to understand that if he comes back with this design, he will not get
a quick approval froin him, but poiuted out that the other members might disagree.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
T'he meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
6
B. Zergott, Chairmai(---rv B. Oring, Cle`r1? of Commissions
5
