R. Tallon moved to refer Ord.
96-100 to council, with the following suggestions which are made to alleviate the concern that f
developer will construct a multifamily building in area along Lorain Road under the guise of motel
usage, the wording of the ordinance should mirror the restrictions imposed on "super stores" requiring
that they be within a certain distance (1/2 mile) of an interstate highway interchange be incorporated
into the paragraph permitting cooking'facilities. Additionally, the hotel must front on Lorain Road,
Brookpark Road, Great Northern Boulevard, or Country Club Boulevard. Also, to, refer Ordinance 96-
102 to Council with the suggestion that the ordinance should name the specific types of sports facilities
that will be permitted. The commission does not want a building constructed that would only lend itself
to other uses not permitted in an industrial area. There is a coucem that the current language gives too
much latitude. The commission has the ability to find a use "similar" in the future if a proposal is
presented that does not fall into the type specifically mentioned. Additionally, we would like to restrict
the uses to indoors within facilities that could be converted to an industrial use. Further, the uses should
be restricted to Lorain Road and not permitted in the Industrial Park. The permitted uses would be as
follows: soccer, racket ball, baseball, football, tennis, and softball. The motion was seconded by A.
Mauuing and unanimously approved.
VII.
