?
although he does uot have a sample to present, the colors will match. Mr. Zergott clarified that
tlus board requires clarification on colors, as often tunes the colors do not match. Mr. Yager
believed tlus is a good presentation, however the canopy and the sign need to work together.
Mr. Doty stated Waguer Sign's will develop the sign package, however, he is willing to relay the
boards coinments. N1r. Yager acknowledged there is an ahuninum picket rail fence. It was
clarified that the cauopy will be permanently fixed. Mr. Yager suggested removing or
redesiguing the side pauels, to d'vnivish the fact that this builcling was a former Friendly's
restaurant. Mr. Zergott explained, Mr. Liggett (a member not in attendance touight), left some
comments pertaining to tlus proposal. He questioned if there are any plans to light the canopy at
night. Mr. Doty did not believe there are auy plans to light the canopy at this time. Mr. Zergott
suggested doing a deeper landscape, so that customers do not feel that they are right on Lorain
Road. Mr. Doty stated, his client believed the presentation portrayed a more welcome unage for
the people driviug down Lorain Road. Mr. Yager noted there is a way to aclueve both. Nlr.
Zergott elaborated that trees could be planted that would not entirely block the front of the
Uuilding. He drew up a quick sketch proving tlus point. Mr. Doty agreed to look into the boards
suggestions.
B. Zergott moved to accept the proposal of Chesapeake Bagels on the conditions that we do get
a color sample of the avvuings and any other paint work to be done; rework the area along the
door to take away from the Frieudly appearance; come back with a laudscaping plan that will
make people waut to sit out on the patio; and the siguage shall be resubmitted at a later date. T.
Gallagher seconded the motion, aud added that there are to be no lights under the canopy. Roll
call on motiou: Zergott, Gallagher, and Yager, yes. Krieger abstained. In the framing of the
motion, Mr. Doty questioned if he will have to come back before the board. Mr. Yager preferred
that the entire board review the sign proposal, however Mr. Zergott was williug to review the
landscape plan independently. The proposal will return to the architectural review board on
December 18, 1996, provided salnples of the awuiug and sign are presented.
VI.
