Cheese in with the rest <br />of the build.ing. <br />M. Yager moved to approve the proposal with the following recommendations: that the paint be <br />coordinated with Tony Roma's; remove the canopies from the vast majority of the right (south) <br />elevation; aud the goose neck lighting shall be used. The motion was seconded by S. Krieger aud <br />unanimously approVed. In the framing of the motion it was clarified that the canopies should be <br />angled to give a finished look. 1'he applicant was informed that the proposal will be forwarded <br />to plauning commission on November 26, 1996. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Econolodge (Camelot Inn), 22989 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to refurbish exterior of existing building. <br />Heard by plauuing commission October 22, 1996. <br />Mr. Petrosky presented the proposal. He explained, in an attempt to comply with plaun.ing <br />commission's recommendations, the following changes were made: the awniug will no longer be <br />illuminated; the balcony rail is metal rather than dryvit; the stairway awning has been removed; <br />and the.balcony rail will be painted beige or gull grey rather than white. A small new entry way <br />will replace two pylars on the west end and the end columns will be covered in dryvit. Mr. <br />Petrosky noted that the doors will be an off red or more of a burgundy and the avvning will be the <br />Unitex color 1790 Winterbury. Mr. Zergott would like the landscaping to be updated along with <br />the building. The members suggested enclosing.the dumpster, and possibly moving it further <br />away from the neighboring residential zone. In response to Mr. Yager's question, Mr. Petrosky <br />clarified that there are no railings on the rear of the building and everytlung to the rear will <br />remain the same. Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk stated that the rear has a mix of <br />several different materials and colors. The members suggested upgrading the paint on the east <br />side of the building. Mrs. Krieger recommended using metal halide lights. <br />T. Gallagher moved to approve the proposal with the following recommendations: the doors are <br />to be burgundy in #1790 Winterbury; the awning is to be unitex manufactured; the landscape plan <br />will be developed and submitted; enclose the dumpster, possibly move it, or both; the brick wall <br />on the east side is to be at least painted to upgrade the back brick wall; and use metal halide <br />lights. Mr. Yager clarified that the landscape plan should be submitted for approval prior to <br />issuing a building permit. The motion was seconded by B. Zergott and unanimously approved. <br />During the framing of the motion, it was clarified that the doors should match the awning and the <br />area around the dumpster should be landscaped. The applicant was informed plauniug <br />commission will meet on November 26, 1996 to further discuss this proposal. <br />2) Chesapeake Bagels, 24950 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to construct outdoor patio with landscaping. <br />Heard by planning commissiou October 8, 1996. - <br />Heard by board of zoning appeals November 7, 1996. <br />Mr. Doty, architect, explained the proposal includes a patio for outside diuiug which will be <br />covered by an awning. He noted Chesapeake's corporate colors are cranberry and white. Mr. <br />Zergott asked if samples of the material can be provided. Mr. Doty assured the members, <br />6
