The oath was administered to J.
Klein and H. Dempsey, architects. Chairman Gomersall read the request. Mr. Klein amended the
request to add a fifth sign which will be located on the upper portion of the west elevation. Mr.
Dempsey advised the previous business (Fretter's) had signs in all these locations. W. Gomersall
stated that this was not a reason to grant the variances. He believed that three signs might be needed
at the angle where the roads intersect, but could see no reason for a sign on the west or south
elevation. Mr. Klein believed that these signs were needed to be visible when approaching from the
Lorain Road and Sparky Lane, and there is ahardship because of the location of the building and the
entrance which is on the northeast. He maintained that it would be cost prolibitive to create
openings in the wall in order to install windows'so people, could see the products inside. This store
sells guitars and music accessories. Law Director Gareau stated that he doubted there would be
many drive by-walk in customers.
