Leo Martynowski, 29692 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to install three individual tenant signs in place of <br />one existing sign on an existing non-conforming pole sign. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section <br />1163.12(h). Note: Pole sign is to be r.emoved by January 1, 1998. <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to J. <br />MartSmowski, representing his father, and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Anders. It was clarified for Mrs. <br />Anders that there were not to be three separate signs, but.that three tenant signs would be placed <br />within the existing sign cabinet. She was shown a rendering of the sign. Mr. Anders objected because <br />of the lights from these signs and the street. Ms. Boyle explained that the pole sign would have to be <br />changed to a ground sign in two years and would eliminate some of the light. W. Purper moved to <br />grant a request to Leo Martynowski, 29692 Lorain Road, for a variance to install three individual <br />tenant signs in place of one existing sign on an existing non-conforming pole sign with the condition <br />that the pole sign is to be removed by January 1, 1998 Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12(h). <br />The motion was seconded by J. Maloney, and u.nauunously approved. Variance granted. <br />13. G. & D. Wilburn. 4553 Porter Rd. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to have a pet care 'service in residential district. <br />Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.02(b). <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mrs. <br />Wilburn, and neighbors, Mrs. Hartzel, and Mr. Arif and his mother. Ms. Wilburn explained that she <br />intended to build an addition onto the garage, to house the dogs. They will board dogs which will be <br />dropped off and picked up during one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, so there <br />would not be a lot of traffic. The dogs would be exercised in the back yard. One small sign with only <br />her name would be on the mailbox. Mr. Gomersall advised that there were letters from three <br />neighbors who were opposed to having a business in a residential neighborhood. The members <br />agreed. Mrs. Wilburn did not know that anyone, had objected. The neighbors discussed the proposal <br />with Mrs. Wilburn. Mr. Gomersall also noted that the traffic at that point was very heavy. R. <br />Gomersall moved to grant the variance for G. & D. Wilburn, 4553 Porter Road; for a variance to <br />have a pet care service in residential district: Violation 'of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.02(b). The <br />__mqtion was seconded by J. Maloney. Roll call on motion: Gomersall, Maloney, Boyle, Koberna, and -- <br />Purper, no. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. <br />14. D. & D. Comodeca, 3394 W. 231st <br />Request for variauce (1123.12). Request 2 foot side yard variance and 7 foot rear yard-variance to <br />construct a detached garage (existing garage will be removed). Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section <br />1135.02(c)(2). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />Engelke, contractor. Building Commissioner Conway explained that the homeowner had advised that <br />the garage will be installed within the next 12 montlis, but in case it is not installed by summer, he <br />would prefer that it be incorporated in the variance. Mr. Engelke advised that the addition would be <br />built as soon as possible and his company would be extending the drive and pouring the foundatiou, <br />but the homeowner would be installing the garage. M. Boyle moved to grant the request for D. & D. <br />7
