Mr. Vincent explained that <br />they were trying to separate the gas islands from the car wash to encourage customers to buy gas when <br />they are not having their car washed. Mr. Vincent pointed out that the Marathon station had a buildiug <br />to enhance their image. Mr. Attwood asked if they could decrease the number of logos and noted that <br />the Aquasonic sign faced the west and they have no identification from the east except the pylon sign. <br />He explained that frequently customers assumed that this is the Marathon station and gas was being <br />sold at the Marathon price. He noted that since most of their customers come from the east, and the <br />Marathon sign is all they see. Mr. Gomersall did not think the logos would make that much difference. <br />Mr. Kobema suggested having one logo. J. Maloney moved to grant a mutually agreed upon modified <br />request to Aquasonic (Citgo), 28800 Lorain Road for a variance to install one (3 by 3) logo on service <br />station on canopy; and variances for pylon sign: to have changeable copy sign; a 5 foot variance for <br />setback from right of way; a 4 foot height variance; and a 7 square foot variance for sign area <br />permitted for a pylon sign (including the changeable copy). Also to grant a variance to use balloons for <br />a period of two days. V?iolation of Ord. 90-125, Sections: 1163.120); 1163.4(k); 1163.12(b) and <br />1163.04(g). The motion was seconded by R. Gomersall, and unaniinously approved. Variances <br />granted. ' <br />4. Joseph GvorkX, 4366 Brendan Lane. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 7 foot rear yard variance to construct addition. Violation of <br />? Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(3). Note: variance was granted for over sized shed, located 5 feet from <br />rear property line on 8/4/94. <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />Gyorky. The members had no problem with the request. W. Purper moved to grant the request of <br />Joseph Gyorky, 4366 Brendan Lane for a 7 foot rear yard variance to construct addition. Violation of <br />Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(3). Note: variance was granted for over sized shed, located 5 feet from <br />rear property line on 8/4/94. The motion was seconded by J. Maloney, and unanimously approved. <br />Variance granted. , .. <br />Robert Koeth, 5530 Bradley Road. Request for variance (1123.12). Request 4 foot rear yard variance to add screened in porch. Violation <br />of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08(a). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was adininistered to Mr. <br />Koeth. There were no objections to the request. T. Kobema moved to grant the request of Robert <br />Koeth, 5530 Bradley Road, for a 4 foot rear yard variance to add screened in porch. Violation of Ord. <br />90-125, Section 1135.08(a). The motion was seconded by W. Purper, and u.naniinously approved. <br />Variance granted. <br />6. Kevin M. Kilbane, 4134 Brendan Lane. , <br />Request for.variance (1123.12). Request 15 foot variance to install swimming pole in requ.ired side <br />.'- yard on corner lot and a variance to have pool in side yard. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Sections <br />1135.02(I), and 1135.06(b). ? <br />Chairmau Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was adinuustered to Mr. <br />Kilbane. Mr. Gomersall questioned why the pool was going to be installed so close to the sidewalk <br />since it could be moved over. Mr. Kilbane advised that he was trying to keep it away from a large tree <br />that was in the back yard, but he offered to move it over so it would be in line with the house. The <br />2
