.... <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMIVIISSION <br />MINLJTES- JCTNE 24, 1997 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />R. Tallon called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. <br />Present: T. Brennan; T. Herbster; R. Koeth; A. Manning; R. Tallon; and D. Cameron-Alston. <br />Absent: K O'Rourke. <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Assistant Clerk of Commissions Cornish. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NiINUTES: <br />Mr. Tallon noted the May 13, 1997 minutes were in need of correction as the minutes did not contain <br />the line indicating the approval of the minutes of Apri18, 1997. R. Tallon moved to adopt the minutes <br />of May 13, 1997 as corrected, seconded by A. Manning and unanimously approved. <br />R. Tallon motioned to approve the minutes of June 10, 1997, seconded by T. Herbster. Roll call <br />on motion: R. Tallon; T. Herbster; A. Manning; T. Brennan; and R. Koeth, Yes. D. Cameron- <br />Alston abstained. Motion carried. <br />III. BiTELDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Gan1eX, 25600 Lorain Road <br />Proposal to construct building addition with site improvements, landscaping and building renovations. <br />Heard by planning commission May 27, 1997. Heard by board of zoning appeals June 5, 1997: To be <br />heard by architectural review board Ju1y 16, 1997. ' <br />Mr. Tallon advised this proposal has been withdrawn from tonight's meeting as it was tabled by <br />architectural review board on June 18, 1997. The proposal will return to planning commission ' after a <br />decision is made by the architectural review board. <br />2) Rite Aid, 28974-29016 Lorain Road: <br />Proposal to demolish existing structure and construct a new single story retail building. , <br />Heard by plauuing commission May 27, 1997. Heard by architectural review board June 18. Signage <br />variances will be required. <br />M. Strelau, architect, presented the revised proposalwhich he hoped addressed the concerns of all the <br />boards and cominissions that have reviewed the proposal. He introduced Mr. Andrzejewski, a <br />representative from the Public Relations'firm that works foi Rite Aid and presented samples of materiaLs. <br />At the last meeting, it was noted, Mr. Boss had some concems about the location of the dumpster. Mr. <br />Strelau explained 1Vir. Boss could not attend tonight's meeting, but is in agreement with the revised <br />location, which resulted from a suggestion made at architectural review board. The clerk distnbuted a <br />copy of the forester's suggestions and Mr. Strelau agreed to meet with the city forester on site to discuss <br />the proposaL Mr. Koeth noted on the western corner of the lot there is a pink dog wood, approximately <br />30 feet tall, which he would like to see saved if at all possible. - Mr. Strelau distributed a copy of the <br />latest plans and submitted a photometric description. Mr. Herbster noted the lighting was not zero at the <br />lot line, as requested previously. Mr. Strelau advised the photometric plan does not incorporate the <br />entire property, and he assured the members lighting would be zero at the lot line. If requested, Mr. <br />Strelau was willing to resubmit a plan showing that there will be no light leakage onto the adjoining <br />properties. Mr. Brennan questioned if the parking lot lights will be double or.single headed fixtures. Mr. <br />Strelau confirmed they would be double .headed fixtures. Per Mr. Meaning's request, Mr. Strelau
