%.../? . A
apartment buildings, would not have the same effect as one tall tower. The Telecommunications Act
requires the State to allow towers on its larid, and a site adjoining I-480, away from residential areas and
adjoining colnmercial property, would be more suitable. He noted that Lorain Road is the city's main
road, tlie recreation center draws people from all over the area, and if the proposed library is ever built,
it will draw even more people. This tower will have an effect on the re-sale value of a home. It would be
more appropriate to have several lower facilities, rather than one tall one with several antennas on top.
Chairmau Tallon advised that he would like to have this come back to the next meeting and requested
that a new notification be sent advising that the location had been changed. He required that the
developers bring the following: their RF Engineers; all charts including the one from the AT&T tower;
answers all the health questions that were raised; a statement from the FAA advising whether or not this
tower is going to have to be orange; a picture or drawing of what the monopole will look like; and
information as to what type of camouflage would be best for that type of pole. Mr. Tallon clarified that
he wants the RF Engineers to show charts for all the different elevations including one for the AT&T
pole. Also he would like to see the 1/2 mile radius where they could install a pole.
R. Tallon moved to table the Nextel West Corporation, 26000 Lorain Road, proposal to construct 150
foot high monopole communications facility on Recreation Center property until the September 23,
1997, and request that the developer bring all the requested information, seconded by T. Herbster, and
unauunously approved.
IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND S[JBDIVISIONS: (Resumed at this point).
3) Karnavas-Steffen. Lot Split and Assembly Plat. -
The proposal is to split perinanent parcel number 232-32-062 (fronts on Canterbury Road) and join the
rear area to permauent parcel number 232-31-061 (fronts on Byron Drive), which is adjacent. Zoning is
A-Residence, Single Entirely and both proposed/ re-aligned lots conform to zoning code requirements
for frontage and area.
Mr. Karnavas was present and presented the proposal. No neighbors were present. He explained that his
lot on Canterbury was about 350 feet deep and M-r. Steffen who lives behind wants to purchase 50 feet
of. Chairmau Tallon wondered why he only wanted 50 feet, when if he had taken 40 more it would have
been rectangular. Mr. Karnavas does not know and Mr. Steffen was not present.
R. Tallon moved to grant the Karnavas-Steffen Lot Split and Assembly Plat, a proposal to split
permauent parcel number 232-32-062 (fronts on Canterbury Road) and join the rear area to permanent
parcel number 232-31-061 (fronts on Byron Drive), which is adjacent. Zoning is A-Residence, Single
Entirely and both proposed/ re-aligned lots conform.to_ zoning code requirements for frontage and area.
The motion was seconded by T. Brennan, and unanimously approved.
V. COIVIMMCATIONS:
No items.
VI. CONIlVIITTEE REPORTS:
No items.
VII.
