Mr. Liggett advised that the board will uot recoinmend
painting brick. Mr. Kline advised that no roof top units will be added and the existing equipment will
remain. They will be removing the happy face and the Pepsi machine. Mr. Yager stated that it would be
incousistent with the uew look, and he agreed that it would not be hard to match the existing brick. He
noted that the brick that was used to patch on the side did not match. Mr. Kliue stated that they might
have to stain the brick on that side. Planning Commission had requested that the down spouts should
not drain onto the adjacent property. Mr. Kline stated that tliey intend to chauge it. W. Liggett does
not care for the stark black, but Mr. Yager had no problem with it since it is an independeut building,
but he would prefer that it not be shiny. W. Kline agreed to use a matte fiuish. Mr. Yager does not like
the logo on the grouud sigu aud would prefer it just to say "Forest City Auto Parts". The mnembers
agreed. T. Gallaglier moved to approved the Forest City Auto Parts, 23789 Lorain Road, proposal to
expand the building with the following conditions: that the black alununum fascia to cover the pre-cast;
the brick is to match; the landscaping plan is to be submitted; the sign should have brick piers to match
the building; the happy face is to be removed; the back fascia is to be a matte finish and the lights cau
remain as is and are to be reflected down and not to exceed the property ]ine and the bulbs should be
metal halide and the brick should be stained, since one side will have to be stained, so it matches. The
motion was seconded by T. Liggett, and unanimously approved. During the framing of the motion, it
was noted that Mrs. I{rieger had sent in her comments, aud preferred metal halide bulbs. Mr. Zergott
clarified that the uorth and west wall should be stained to match the existing. It was clarified that the
landscape plan did uot have to discussed at a meeting, but could be reviewed independently.
Buildiug Commissioner Couway presented a proposed sign for Quality Tile and Floor and explained that
the words on the side were to be removed, the members believed that the sign was too cluttered. Mr.
Yager believed that the letters were placed too close together and did not like the checker board pattern
on the side, but the two squares in the background cau stay. Mr. Yager suggested that they inoved the
letters of the name further apart so they are more readable.
Mattress Warehouse proposed a sigu with a logo of a tent. The members did not see the significauce of
the teut, and wanted it removed.
Mr. Yager mentioned a workshop that was being held by the American Institute of Architects this
Saturday, some of the members would like to go, if the Mayor will approve. The clerk will look into it.
Mrs. Krieger had the Mayor advised that she would like to resign at the end of the year. Mr. Yager
knows a lighting consultant who might be interested. This gentleman does not live in North Olmsted,
but that is not a requirement for this board.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The ineeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
? ??
B.
