?. :
in the 35 foot triangle but asked that Mr. Woost contact Mr. O'Connell to clarify. He noted, if
the sign is installed outside the thirty-five foot triangle and a twenty-five foot distance from the
property line is maintained, this would not have to go for a variance. Mr. Woost stated he cannot
accommodate this location, as the lot is only 55 feet wide and therefore the sign "cannot be
installed 35 feet from one property line and 25 from the other. Mr. Rymarczyk explained the
dimensions of the triangle. It appeared from the drawing the sign was out of the thirty-five foot
triangle but not closer than 25 feet from the property line.
2) Dugans Pub, 29352 Lorain Road
Wall sign and pole sign face replacement logo.
Mr. Jarvis, sign contractor presented the proposal to replace the face :of the sign. The sign will be
composed of a white lexon material with green letters and a beer mug logo. Mr. Jarvis advised
this sign proposal conforms to zoning requirements. The members discussed the beer mug logo.
Mr. Gallagher advised the board is attempting to avoid symbolism on signs and particularly phone
numbers. The ground sign is proposed to have green letters without a logo. Mr. Yager
recommended that the ground sign have red letters to match the other signs on the pole. He
noted the wall sign can be whatever color chosen. The owner wanted an Irish look. Mr. Yager
advised the board is attempting to eliminate as much clutter as possible and a red lettering on the
ground sign would coordinate with the rest of the signage. Mr. Yager did not approve of the wall
sign logo and wondered if the pole sign is high enough so as not to obstruct the visibility of
oncoming drivers. Mr. 7arvis advised the base of the sign is approximately ten feet above the
sidewalk which should not obstruct visibility. Mr. Liggett advised there are many colors
happening in the ground sign and suggested using black for the letters instead of red. Mr: Yager
noted this logo is an additive as the verbiage appropriately explains the type of business in
operation. Mr. Jaivis presented an altemative logo, same materials, but with a four leaf clover on
either end of the sign rather than a beer mug in the center. The members approved of this
altemative logo.
T. Gallagher moved to approve the wall sign and pole sign presentations with the following
modifications: the wall sign shall be white with green lettering and shamrocks on the ends; the
beer mug logo shall be eliminated; and the pole sign replacement shall be white with red letters
consistent with the existing signs on the pole. The motion was seconded by T. Liggett and
unanimously approved. Motion carried. - - ---
3) Fortney & Weygandt, 31269 Bradley Road
Signage and lighting proposal for a new building.
Mr. Allen, project manager, presented pictures of the site from different angles along with
photographs of the abutting buildings. The members reviewed the photographs. Mr. Allen
advised the sign would be constructed of individual brick masonry units to match the building.
The sign letters will be composed of a 1/2 inch aluminnm, directly mounted or applied to each
side of the masonry sign. A recessed spot light will• be installed at the base of the sign to
illuminate it during the evening hours. Mr: Allen explained the original drawing submitted with
the building displayed the landscaping, which included approxrimately five small, 12 to 18 inch
