F__. . • <br />Chainnan Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />Jobeson, who presented the proposaL The members had no problem with the proposal. Mr. Jobeson <br />asked if the board would consider exempting the proposal from the January 1, 1998 ordinance. <br />Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk recommended keeping the sign at eight foot, anything <br />less would be classified as a ground sign, therefore a height variance would be required. Mr. <br />Gomersall verified the location of the signs. Mr. Rymarczyk explained the sign must be ten feet from <br />the right-of-way. Mr. Jobeson agreed to install the sign ten feet from the right-of-way as required. <br />R. Gomersall moved to grant to Stuclio Plus, 25801 Country Club Blvd, the following signage <br />variances: a variance to have a second building sign and a 10 foot side yard variance for directional <br />sign. It was noted the pylon sign must have a height of 8 foot. Mr. Maloney amended the motion to <br />read that the non-conforming signs would be exempt from ordiuance 1163.26 and would not have to <br />be removed January 1, 1998. The motion was seconded by J. Maloney and u.nauimously approved. <br />Mr. Jobeson advised the plan has changed slightly from the original proposal. He was told to present <br />these revisions to the building department. Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk believed it <br />would have to go back to planning commission. <br />14. Sunnvside Toyota, 26890 Lorain Road <br />Request for appeal (1123.07). Appealing the building commissioners determination regarding logo. <br />Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.16 (D). Heard by architectural review board January 22, 1997. <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />Bizjak, sign contractor. Mr. Gomersall clarified this is not a request to appeal the building <br />commissioners decision, but rather because logos must be reviewed by this board. The members did <br />- not have any objections to this logo. <br />J. Maloney moved to grant the request of Sunnyside Toyota, 26890 Lorain Road, a request for <br />approval of Sunnyside Toyota logo, which was in Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.16(D). The <br />motion was seconded by T. Koberna and unanimously approved. <br />15. Anthony Malinak, 6245 McKenzie Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request a 40 square foot variance for area of shed which exceeds the <br />200 square foot maximum area allowed. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.02(d)(1). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />Malinak, homeowner. The members had no problem with the request. <br />T. Koberna moved to grant the request of Anthony Malinak, 6245 McKenzie Road, a 40 square foot <br />variauce for area of shed which exceeds the 200 square foot maximum area allowed. Violarion of <br />Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.02 (d)(1). The motion was seconded by R. Gomersall and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Following the meeting, Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk raised several questions concerning <br />variances that were granted for signs in December. He clarified the following people had requested <br />variances: Chilles, Tiffy Lube, Health & Fitness, Guitar Center, and Tony's Break & Auto. Mr. Rymarczyk <br />wondered if the board would consider exempting themj'rom ordinance U63.26 which requires all non- <br />conforming signs to be removed by January 1, 1998. The board members reviewed each sign ind.ividually. <br />The members decided not to exempt Chilles and Tiffy Lube.
