+- I ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW MAY 21, 1986 PAGE 2 <br />3) North 0lmsted Beverage, south side of Lorain Rd. two lots east of <br />Wedgewood Dr. <br />Signs to be heard with building plans. <br />Proposal not approved. P1ans included using a pole sign at now in use <br />at the existing location. Board requested to see picture,of existing <br />sign and any ch ange of copy planned. <br />4) Great Northern Technology Park, south side of Country Club Blvd. <br />Signs (Heard with discussion of Technology Park II) <br />Mr. Carlisle questioned if all signs must go to the Architectural Board <br />of Review, since the ordinance does not state that defini.tely. In the <br />past, signs for new proposals or alterations have been presented as a <br />part of the building proposal in order for the Board to establish a di- <br />rection for the signage. Board agreed to hear sign plans for Technology <br />Park I at this time. Mr. Carlisle explained that one ground sign will <br />indentify,.b.oth Technology Park and the Hampton Inn and may include some <br />of the large larger tennants and that there will be several small direc- <br />tory and directional signs. Signs wi11 be surrounded with a clear frame <br />encasing a filigree pattern which will be a mill finished aluminum; back- <br />ground of sign faces wi11 be .. champaign beige plexiglass faces; only <br />th.e large ground sign will be il-luminated from the ground. Some build- <br />ing signs may be installed with letters in red and no higher than 10". <br />Mra Pattison stated that since this is the sign design for all Technology <br />Park., tliis approval should be sufficient for the other phases of the <br />projectm S. Ebin moved to approve the signs as submitted for Technology <br />Park I and that same concept for Technology Park II, seconded by M. <br />Casep Ro11 ca11 on motion: Ebin, Case, and Britton, Yes. Mr. Pattison <br />atistained, <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Regarding the ground sign on Plaza West which Mr. Ebin has mentioned at <br />the last two meetings, a letter fxom Bob Cutler Signs was presented stating <br />that arrangements are being made to run all wires from underground. Mr. <br />Ebin stated that he would like to have the sign disconnected until this is <br />accomplished.. <br />V. NEW BUSINESSs <br />1) North Olmsted Beverage, south side of Lorain Rd. two lots east of <br />Wedgewood Dr. <br />Proposal to construct beverage store with drive-thru facility and <br />video shop, (Heard by Planning Commission April 22, 1986). <br />Plans were presented by Mr. Kazimarck and Mr. Ricchetti, designers, and <br />Mr. Wagner, owner. No color elevation or samples of materials were pre- <br />sented, Mr. Kazimarck explained that the building would be red or brown <br />brick with stained gables, either T111 or exterior plywood, facia wi11 be <br />cedar; light fixtures will be green enamel. He stated that materials <br />and color wi11 be exactly the same as the plaza at West 231 and Lorain <br />Roade They were told that photographs of the building would be accep= <br />table as samples of materials. Planning Commission had requested elimin- <br />ating one curb cut. Building Commissioner Spino advised that the ordi-
