ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW
JANUARY 22, 1986 PAGE 2
G. Draeger, architect, presented the plans; cooler will be in con-
crete block; there will be no mechanical equipment on roof; roof
will be aluminium; window and door on drug store will be bricked in
with matching brick. Mr. Ebin suggested that cooler should be en-
closed with brick to znatch the existing walls, Mr. Draeger pointed
out that some of the rear walls are concrete block and some are brick
and offered to use brick on the side adjacent to the brick wa11 and
use the concrete block on the other walls. Neighbors to the rear
had requested a solid wood fence. Mr. Draeger stated that the ex-
isting fence had just been repaired and slats are new and there are
no plans to zeplace it at present. Mr. Ebin questioned if this is
proposal is taking away any parking and stated that this plan does
not reflect the parking as it is laid out now. Mr. Draeger will
verify the actual layout of the parking lot. Mr. Ebin also believes
that the existing znechanical units on the roof are a visual disaster
and are visible from the condominiums in the rear and should be
screened. S. Ebin moved to approve the addition providing that the
walls are brick, not concrete block, and with the recommendation
that the Building Department check the parking for the number of
cars, the size of the parking spaces, and the width of the drive-
ways to see if it conforms to the ordinances and with the recom-
mendation that the equipment on the roof be screened on the north
east, and west sides, seconded by M. Case, and unanimously approved.
Mr. Ebin clarified that the screening is his recommendation, not
a condition, he does not know if the City can force the owner to
do this,
VI.
