q ??•? 1/ :' • ! <br />?y ' • ,'I?l?? v <br />t <br />MINUTES OF THE NORTH OLMSTED.LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />MARCH 19, 1986 <br />PRESENT: Bob Parry, Bill Laclcey, Gloria Sell, Betty Lord, <br />Michael Patton and new member John Cimperman <br />The meeting was called to order by Bob Parry at 8:18. <br />OLD BUSINESS: The minutes from the last meeting on February 24th <br />were approved by a motion from Michaei Patton that was seconded by <br />Gloria Sell. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: Bob Parry discussed a workshop on historic preservation <br />that will be sponsered by the Regional Planning Commission on April <br />17th at the Harley Hotel in Independence,Ohio. The workshop will <br />discuss what communities need to do so that they can meet the CLG <br />requirements. <br />NEW BUSINESS: The Butternut Historic District Ordinance will be <br />introduced,by Bill Lackey through a legislative issue not a zoning <br />issue. The NOLC hopes that this Ordinance will be ready for committee <br />by May and Bill Lackey expressed his support for continued work for <br />Butternut. Bill Lackey suggested that the N.O. residents be involved <br />by signing petitions in favor of the Ordinance. <br />Bob Parry discussed the proposed changes for the NOLC Ordinance <br />for the Butternut District and handouts of the original ordinance <br />and the proposed ordinance changes wer.e distributed. Bob will <br />take care of contacting Mike Gareau so that the new ordinance can <br />be written after a letter is submitted with a Butternut Ridge Packet <br />and map. <br />Betty Lord read from the or.i.ginal ordinance which stated that <br />a need exists for wtitten consent from individual homeowners before <br />landmark districting. This item would be revised by the NOLC for the <br />Butternut historic district. Bob Parry added that since there is <br />no single owner of the district the NOLC will have to address this <br />issue and find an alternative that would still allow the homeowners <br />to be informed, and:that this issue.should be clarified before the
