q ??•? 1/ :' • ! ?y ' • ,'I?l?? v t MINUTES OF THE NORTH OLMSTED.LANDMARKS COMMISSION MARCH 19, 1986 PRESENT: Bob Parry, Bill Laclcey, Gloria Sell, Betty Lord, Michael Patton and new member John Cimperman The meeting was called to order by Bob Parry at 8:18. OLD BUSINESS: The minutes from the last meeting on February 24th were approved by a motion from Michaei Patton that was seconded by Gloria Sell. CORRESPONDENCE: Bob Parry discussed a workshop on historic preservation that will be sponsered by the Regional Planning Commission on April 17th at the Harley Hotel in Independence,Ohio. The workshop will discuss what communities need to do so that they can meet the CLG requirements. NEW BUSINESS: The Butternut Historic District Ordinance will be introduced,by Bill Lackey through a legislative issue not a zoning issue. The NOLC hopes that this Ordinance will be ready for committee by May and Bill Lackey expressed his support for continued work for Butternut. Bill Lackey suggested that the N.O. residents be involved by signing petitions in favor of the Ordinance. Bob Parry discussed the proposed changes for the NOLC Ordinance for the Butternut District and handouts of the original ordinance and the proposed ordinance changes wer.e distributed. Bob will take care of contacting Mike Gareau so that the new ordinance can be written after a letter is submitted with a Butternut Ridge Packet and map. Betty Lord read from the or.i.ginal ordinance which stated that a need exists for wtitten consent from individual homeowners before landmark districting. This item would be revised by the NOLC for the Butternut historic district. Bob Parry added that since there is no single owner of the district the NOLC will have to address this issue and find an alternative that would still allow the homeowners to be informed, and:that this issue.should be clarified before the
