Finally, Bob requested that the NOLC <br />members review the Ordinance compiled by Sharon Fleming before the <br />next Landmarks' meeting. <br />John Cimperman commented that in Cleveland and other areas a <br />public hearing is held that requires a majority of acceptance when <br />proposed historic districts involve numerous homeowners. <br />Michael Patton presented his report on the minimal requirement <br />for governmental ordinances in compliance with CLG and how this <br />matches N.O.'s proposed ordinance. Bob Parry suggested sending the <br />proposed ordinance to be reviewed and Betty Lord motioned to send <br />the proposed ordinanee to Mr. Francavilia of the Ohio Hist. Soc.. <br />Michael Patton seconded the motion. <br />John Cimperman volunteered to distribute some sample ordinances <br />to be used as a model, even though he commented that different <br />standards will have to be used for smaller cities like N.O. <br />NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED: N.O. City Council is providing money for <br />Butternut Trees to be planted on the Butternut Ridge Road. Bob <br />Parry posed the question of whether NOLC could place historic <br />plaques on old trees. John Cimperman addressed Bob's question by <br />r.efering-to other examples from cities that had marked various <br />types of significant historic landmarks like trees and even rocks, so <br />it could be done. John Cimperman also distributed xerox?copies of <br />some examples of various cities that had established historic street <br />signs and suggested this same idea for N.O. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 by a motion from Michael Patton <br />that was seconded by Gloria Sell.
