BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS:
1) George's Kitchen, 27350 Lorain Road
Proposal-to-construct an addition-to front,of-existing restaurant.-•-
Heard by-Architectural Board_.of Review December-18, 1985.-,
Architect Mr. Isakawa, Mrs. Pasalis, the owner,-and Mr-. Olayas; a real
estate agent, presented the plans which had been anproved as presented
by the Architectural Board. Including'the 580 square foot addition
there will be a total of 158 seats and lI parking spaces are being
added in the front for a total of 79 spaces which will conform to the
ordinance (number of spaces shown with original presentation was in-
correct), a second access drive is planned off Lorain Road. Police De-
partment report liad no problem with the second driveway. Planning Com-
mission is trying to eliminate additional curb cuts on Lorain Road
wherever possible. An alternate plan eliminating the second access
was presented. It was suggested that some of the seating be cut back
so that additional 11 spaces could be eliminated in the front set back.
This would not be economically feasible, but extensive landscaping is
planned in front of the addition and in landscape buffer adjacent to
sidewalk. Parking in front set back is permitted by code. Mr. Morgan
advised that he had counted the parking spaces and that there were
only 78 and 79 are required. A driveway between their parking lot and
an adjacent lot can be eliminated to add an additional space. Mrs.
A. Holmok and Mrs. Aerman who were in the audience viewed the plans.
They objected that the trees on this lot were cut down. Mrs. Pasalis
presented a letter from the Edwards Tree Service stating that the trees
had been damaged from lack of water. and fumes and salt.and were in
poor-condition-. =7?ao other--trees at -this- locat-ion- have--already_ died.
