Morgan moved to approve the George's Kitcheri proposal to construct <br />an addition in the front of the existing restaurant as shown on the <br />site plans and as presented today with the recommendation that the <br />curb cut as shown not be permitted and that the alternate plan as <br />indicated by the architect would be utilized, and that the landscaping <br />as proposed be included in the development and also, that the signs, <br />both the building and the pole sign, be resubmitted to the Architectural <br />Board of Review prior to approval, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unani- <br />mously approved. Mr. Morgan reminded the architect that plan does <br />show there is a discrepancy between the parking spaces shown and that <br />which is claimed, being one space, and that the occupancy permit be <br />issued for spaces that ultimately appear (must meet the code). <br />2) Zaestin Centre, 30276 Lorain Rd: <br />Proposal to construct automobile repair facility - phase 1. <br />Heard by the Architectural Board of Review December 18, 1985. <br />Architectural Board of-=Review-minutes stated that Mr. Ebin of that Board_- <br />had obj ected to- the- glass block- above the doors (Mrs.- Case had no obj ec- -- <br />tion) ; and also- had questioned--if the Stri-face_ split concrete block <br />was an approved material. Mr. Sager, the architect, suggested that if <br />the doors.were a lighter color the pattern of the glass block would <br />not stand out as much. Acting Building Commissioner Sanker advised <br />that the.split face block has been approved and is being used at other <br />locations. Mr. Sager presented a sample of the brick which will pro- <br />vide a contrast to the split block and stated that he plans_to treat <br />the block=with-a silicon material. - Fire.Depar.tment report-advised that ___ <br />a fire hydrant will-be required. _Po9,:Cce had no objections, -however, they <br />ques.tioned if the building had windows or- an entry point zn the rear. - <br />There will-be-a man door in the rear and security lighting is planned. <br />The Metropark property i:s to the rear-and a green-chain link fence with <br />planti`ngs will be installed on the rear and sides of the property. <br />Fence is shown on plans but plantings are not. Mr. Holmok, a resident, <br />questioned how the City was going to keep this area from looking like <br />a junk yard since there are other auto repair facilities on Lorain <br />Road which are eyesores. Mr. Sanker asked Mr. Holmok to contact his <br />office wi11 all complaints. Only the building sign was submitted at <br />this time and it was approved by the Architectural Board. E. Traczyk <br />moved to approve the Westin Center proposal to construct an automobile <br />repair fac2lity - Phase 1, as approved by the Architectural Board of <br />Review and with the materials so indicated by the architect this even- <br />ing, including the glass block, seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously <br />a,ppxoved, After a brief discussion, Mr. Morgan moved to amend the <br />motion to read and including the green chain link fence and the land- <br />scaping thereon, seconded by J. Burns, and unanimously approved. <br />3) Rini`s Supermarket, 23000 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to add walk-in cooler at rear of building and review of <br />plans to expand supermarket into adjacent drug store. <br />Architect G. Draeger presented plans to add cooler in corner where <br />the two buildi'ngs are j oined: -- The existing- adj acent--drug- storL- wi11 =- <br />be taken aver by the supermarket. No new-mechanical=units--are planned.--
