<br />y CITX OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES - JUI,Y 8, 1986 <br />I. Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bierman, B. Gorris, T, Morgan,E. Traczyk, J. Wixted, J. Brown, <br />and J. Burns. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, City Engineer J. Schaller, <br />Building Commissioner S. Spino, Councilmen Lackey and McKay <br />and Clerk of Commissions B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Minutes of June 24th were corrected as follows: Page 1, Mr. Bierman was <br />present (Mr. Burns_listed twice); Page 4:, fourth line, in reference__to the ___ <br />Safety_Department report should.read.the Safety Director;_not Captain Krynak; <br />and also on Page 4; 15th line, Chairman Burns stated that the Safety Director <br />is asking, not the Mayor as stated. T. Morgan moved to approve the Minutes <br />of June 24, 1986 as amended; seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS; <br />1) Biskind Development Co., 4970 Great Northern Mall <br />Parking plan for Great Northern Mall expans.ion. (Building plans approved <br />March 26, 1986)(Tabled at meeting of June 24, 1986). Mr. Garlisle advised that -there-would be 16 fewer partcing-spaces in the new <br />parking configuration that they had previously; however9 they will be re- <br />gaining those spaces elsewhere. They do have a surplus of parking spaces in <br />the Mall area now. A temporary bus stop will be used during the construction <br />of the expansion:-B. Gorris moved to--accept-the Great Northern Parking Plan <br />as proposed on the parking analysis as revised on July 8, 1986 and as on <br />the color rendition that compliments that which was presented tonight, <br />seconded-by T. Morgan, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Carter P1aza, 24749 Lorain Rd. <br />Revised proposal to construct two retail buildings (one to be immediately <br />adjacent to existing building at 24749 Lorain Rd. (Withdrawn from meeting <br />of June 11, 1986.). . <br />Mr. Draeger, the architect, presented revised plans that now pl.aces building <br />"B" entirely within the General Retail District. The existing building (now <br />the site of Mace Electronics) will be upgraded.._ Building "A" is 18,415 square <br />feet and building "B" has been reduced to-13,800-square feet. Parking con- <br />forms to code: 177 spaces are provided; 173 required. Handicapped space <br />shown at rear of building will be relocated. Parcels must be combined and <br />assembly plat will be submitted to the Engineering Department. Ligfiting <br />will be directed down. Building Commissioner Spino believes that rectan- <br />gular space between existing building and building "A" coul.d cause problems, <br />it was later decided this could be the dumpster location. There are 120 <br />feet- f-rom the building to the rear property line,- a portion -of which is a <br />natural buffer with existing trees. Mrs. Seibert, an adjacent neighbor to
