- ----- -----? -- ?--- --
•"! _ . o
- d
? ? te.r
JOI-IN OX
NITED
RESBYTERIAN
UPD CHURCH
CH
June 27, 1986
Mr. James Burns, Chairman
North Olmsted Planning Commission
3978 Dover Center Road
North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
Dear Chairman Burns:
1 am writing to express ey concerns regarding a proposal to develop
property at 25250 Lorain Road, just west of John Knox Church and just east
of the proposed extension of S.R. 252. Hennie Homes is proposing to build
three (3) retail stores totaling 5850 square feet, plus 20 parking stalls,
on this narrow strip of land. As a member of the North Olmsted Planning Commission, 1 urge you to oppose
. this plan for the following considerations:
i. The traffic flow on Lorain Road is extremely heavy, and the
subsequent safety hazards caused by ingress/egress traffic froo
three ¦ore retail establishments should be avoided.
2. This proposal will create a very unsightly appearance as one
looks vestvard tovards its eastern boundary..... With a three foot
- retaining wall, a fourteen foot building wall, and/or a six foot
fence running the length of their eastern property line.
3. This proposal for retail space will cause major conflicts with
the Worship Services and other programs of John Knox Church. I'o
talking about things such as parking noises, trash dumpsters,
external lighting, and promotional activities during retail
hours which include Sundays and evenings.. Keep in mind that this
property is just sixty feet fron the Church Sanctuary building
itself.
Again, t urge you to oppose this proposal and recommend that sooe other,
less ambitious, plan be considered for this propertys
Sincerely.
Ross E. Eyer, President
Board of Trustees
25200 LOitA1N ROAD o NORTH OIMSTED, OHIO 44070 • 216lTT7-3744
. Pastor: THE REVEREND L.
