._ M <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES - NOVEMBER 13, 1985 <br />Chairman Remmel called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bugala, R. Gomersall, and C. Remmel <br />Absent: E. Graves and J. Helon <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner E. Gundy,' <br />and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />R. Bugala moved to approve the Minutes of October 2, 1985 as written, <br />seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously approved. <br />Chairman Remmel advised that the Joseph Stralka request for a ruling will <br />be continued until the next meeting. <br />1. Kimmich's Growing Trends, Inc., 23266 Lorain Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance to use second ground <br />sign on one property. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1221.06-B-2. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr. Kimmich who explained that this changeable copy <br />sign had increased his business. Sign is similar to a temporary sign b.ut <br />he plans to install planting around it or would be willing to get another <br />changeable copy sign, He does not want a pole sign since a an ordinance <br />has been proposed which might eliminate them from the city. Mr. Remmel <br />and Mr. Bugala believe that he can conform to the ordinance and still <br />have a changeable copy sign. C. Remmel moved to grant the variance, <br />seconded by R. Bugala. Roll call on motion: Remmel and Bugala, Nay. Mr. <br />Gomersall, yes. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. <br />2. Frederic C. Bower, 5965 Louis Dr. <br />Request special permit to add to non-conforming dwelling (front set back). <br />Special permission required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr. C. Bower, representing Fred Bower. Board has no <br />problem with this request. R. Bugala moved to grant the special permit to <br />add to a non-conforming dwelling (front set back) at Frederic C. Bower's, <br />5963 Louis Dr., seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously approved. Special <br />permit granted. <br />3. John Heinrich, 3196 W. 231 St. <br />Request special permit to add to non-conforming dwelling. Special permit <br />required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich. Board has no problem with re- <br />quest. R. Gomersall moved to grant the special permit to add to a non- <br />conforming dwelling for John Heinrich, seconded by R. Bugala, and unani- <br />mously approved. Special permit granted. <br />4. Robert K.. Zika, 6794 Cypress Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 92 sq. ft. variance for area of <br />tool shed. Also request variance for location of tool shed (less than 5' <br />from property lines). Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-D.
