CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES - JUNE 12, 1985 <br />Chairman Remmel called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bugala, R. Gomersall, J. Helon, and C. Remmel <br />Absent: - E. Graves <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner E. Gundy <br />and Recording.Secretary B. Oring. <br />Mr. Bugala amended the Minutes of May lst to include that the absence of <br />R. Gomersall had been excused.- R. Bugala moved that the Minutes of May:?1, <br />1985 be approved as amended, seconded by C. Remmel, and unanimously ap- <br />proved. <br />1. Dennis Miller, 23477 Clifford Dr. REquest for variance (1133.13)._ Request 12' variance for distance between <br />house and garage. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Sectlon--1-151.04-C.-- Aiso re- <br />quest special.permit-to add to non-conforming dwelling. Special permission <br />required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called•all interested parties before the Board. lhe oatn <br />was administered to Mr. Miller. Board has no problems with addition but <br />believes thaL garage should be moved (garage is only 2' off property line <br />as well as being too close to addition); or else alter plans for addition <br />by reducing it 8'. Mr. Miller stated that he planned to fireproof garage. <br />After some discussion, Mr. 1Killer withdrew the request= to study alternatives. <br />2, Walnut Grove Apts. (J. Friedrich), 23006-8 Mastick Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance to place apartment <br />sign in residential district. - Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1221.05. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oaLh <br />was administered to Mr. Freidrich. Sign will not be illuminated and will <br />be located where present address sign is now. R. Bugala moved to grant <br />the variance for the placement of the apartment sign in a residential dis- <br />trict with the premise that it is not lit and is no closer to the road <br />than the present house number sign, seconded by R. Gomersall and unani- <br />mously approved. Variance granted. <br />3. Paul and Anne Yackee, 24167 Maple Ridge Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 44 sq. ft. variance for tool shed <br />and location variance for shed. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-D. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr. and Mrs. Yackee. Shed was started without a <br />building permit and is oversized and not in a conforming location. Board <br />has no problem with location since property is deep. C. Remmel moved to <br />grant the variance for the present location of the shed with the under- <br />standing that the shed will be reduced to legal size, seconded by R. <br />- Gommersall,-and unanimously approved. Variance granted..
