Request for interpretation that car care service (rustproofing, interior and exterior protection) would be a permitted use in Limited Industrial area. Interpretation required Ord. 62-33, Section 1191.02-(M). Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was administered to R. Chappel and neighbors, Mrs. G. Bowers, M. Lindhorst, and Mr. & Mrs. Frommeyer. Mr. Chappel explained he did rust proofing which includes some minor rust repair and he installs anti-theft and stereo systems. Mr. Remmel was concerned about the rust repair, which is actually a body repair shop function. Law Director Gareau stated that the Board must consider if this is compatible with the Limited Industrial Area, not the adjacent residences; and that the Board must determine if this is a similar or a like use to those permitted in the Limited Industrial Area. Building Commissioner Gundy stated that the Board must consider if this type service would interfere with the eventual industrial users. Mr. Bugala stated that he feels that this type business belongs in the General Retail area. C. Remmel moved to grant the.interpretation that Auto Service Protection qualifies under the present uses permitted in the Limited In- dustrial Zone, in this case only, seconded by R. Gomersall. Roll call on motion: Remmel and Gomersall, Yes. Mr. Bugala, Nay. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. Mr. Chappel was advised that he could appeal this through the courts. R. Bugala moved to approve the Minutes of January 6, 1985, as presented, seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously approved. C. Remmel moved to excuse the absence of Mr. Helon and Mr. Graves, seconded by R. Gomersall, and unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. ? C. Remmel, Chairman B.
