r <br />concerns over any changes as residents that are directly influenced, <br />and to report back to the Comm, about any decisions concerning <br />this problem. The possibility of Districting for the Butternut <br />area should be brought to the attention of the City before any <br />changes are made for traffic considerations. <br />CDBG Money for Repairs - Repairs for the Town Hall discussed. <br />Replacement of the boiler, and removal of asbestos and the <br />exterior painting of the down spouts and roof repairs are listed <br />as possible needs. <br />Publicity - Betty Lord reported that the Council Presentation was <br />successful concerning the work completed by the N.O.L.C. There <br />were 262 properties reported on and credit for the work was <br />given in the local newspapers. <br />U'pcoming Events - Ideas for the N.O. residents of historic homes <br />were discussed. It was decided that an Open House Event would be <br />better that a formal presentation. The Open House would provide <br />the residents a chance to review the work of the Commission. <br />Slides of the homes will be on display as a quick overview of <br />the areas and a short summary of the Grant Work will be presented. <br />An overview at the beginning of the Open House with an explanation <br />and examples of the historical files (O.H.I.) will be presented <br />and then the majority of the Open House time will be used for <br />browsing through property files at individual stations that <br />will be organized according to street areas. N.O.L.C. members <br />will be posted at the various stations to answer the questions of <br />residents and to set up a system for noting any corrections or <br />anecdotes needed in the property files. <br />Robert Parry volunteered to create a form for the residents to <br />use when they attend the Open House for noting the corrections <br />or aclditions. It will also be made known that any old photos <br />or personal records that are of value to the history of a property <br />will be welcome and accepted from residents who offer. <br />A letter will be sent to residents who have historic property <br />listed with the N.O.L.C. by October lst, to inform them of the <br />Open House on October 21st. <br />The Open HOuse will be held in the Town Ha11 and a request will <br />be made to have the Hall cleaned before the event.: <br />Work will be done to include a list of previous owners in the <br />files for the residents to view and zerox copies will possibly <br />be made available. Address labels were proposed as a convenient <br />way to send out the October lst letters to inform the residents <br />of the Open House. The labels will be typed as TO THE OWNER OF .. <br />..given address and the labels could also be used in the files <br />and for future correspondence. Betty Lord will be responsible <br />for writing and sending out the October lst letter. <br />New Business- Michael Patton will talk to Mr. Boyle, N.O. Finance <br />Director, concerning the establishment of a Friends of the <br />Landmarks Commission Group. Such a group could be helpful in <br />many ways, including assistance for funding the historical plaques <br />for the future. <br />Robert Parry represents a young Boy Scout who wishes to do some
