BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS SEPTEMBER 5, 1984 PAGE 3.
that all allotted sign area has been used. A 75 sq. ft. variance for total
sign area had been granted to Goodwill for the wall sign. He suggested that,
if the Board were willing, perhaps Goodwill would reduce their wall signage
so that the ground sign and the wall sign equal the 75 sq. ft. variance pre-
viously granted. Goodwill agreed this would be satisfactory. Board does
not like location of ground sign below existing pole sign, and prefers the
? alternate location in a parking space west of the eastern most driveway. C.
Remmel moved to grat a total variance of 75 sq. ft. conditioned upon the re-
moval of the present facia sign. The total of 75 sq. ft. may be used for
a ground sign (placed at the east alternative location), or a combination of
ground sign and facia sign providing the combined area of both signs does
not exceed 75 sq. ft. This variance shall apply to Goodwill only, and will
not be transferable, seconded by R. Bugala, and unanimously approvede
Variance granted.
5. Roy F. Scherler, 4682 Grace Rd.
Request special permit to add to non-conforming dwelling (total side yards).
Special permission required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mrs. Scherler. This is a deep lot. R. Bugala moved
to provide a special permit required to add to a non-conforming dwelling,
seconded by L. Horvath, and unanimously approved. Special permit granted.
6. Robert P. Williams, 23308 Alexander Rd.
Request for variance (1133.13). Request 18'2" front set back variance to
enclose front porch. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1159.01.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mr. and Mrs. Williams, David and Mrs. H. Skapes, and
their attorney, Mr. S. Stein. Attorney Stein advised the Board that notice
was sent to J. Skapes, and that the owner of record should be Helen Skapes.
It was clarified that the existing porch is to be enclosed, there will be
s°no further encroachment into the set back. Attorney Stein requested that
? final plans be done by a registered architect or engineer, not plans
drawn by the homeowner as presented. Building Commissioner Gundy stated
that some information on the windows should be supplied; however, he saw
no need for architectural plans. He stated that the plans will be checked
prior to issuing a permit. Mr. Williams stated that a contractor will be
putting in the windows and doing the finish work. Mr. Remmel stated that
this should be an improvement. C. Remmel moved to grant the variance sub-
ject to the Building Department's approval, seconded by L. Horvath, and
unanimously approved. Variance granted.
7. Larry Dorazio, 23904 Amesbury Dr.
Request for variance (1133.13). Request 3' total side yard variance to add
attached garage. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1161.01.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mr. Dorazio and his contractor, B. Pascal. Chairman
Remmel stated that other houses of that same design had detanhed garages;'
only one, on a larger lot had an attached garage. Garage is.14' wide. Mr.
