BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS SEPTEMBER 5, 1984 PAGE 4
Remmel suggested that the garage could be cut down so that it would not
need as large a variance. A one car garage is planned and is somewhat
larger than the standard one-car garage. The Dorazios have a car and
a van; a two car detached garage would accommodate both vehicles. Mr.
Dorazio and his contractor stated that the attached garage would improve
the appearance of the house and that they like having the space in the
back yard. Chairman Remmel stated that this takes up too much space on
that lot, and possibly cutting down the width and request a smaller var-
J iance would be better. Mr. Dorazio stated that the adjacent neighbor
had no objections. C. Remmel moved to grant the variance, seconded by J.
Helon. Roll call on motion: Remmel, Helon, Bugala, and Horvath, Nay.
Motion failed to pass. Variance denied.
r
8. Jerry R. and Carol A. Wood, 27981 Marquette Blvd.
Request for variance (1133.13). Request 4' side line variance and 40'
rear yard variance for location of tool shed. Violation of Ord. 62-33,
Section 1151.04-D.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mr. and Mrs. Wood who explained that 5' fence would
` obscure 8' shed from view and if it were placed in the rear yard as .
required by the ordinance, it would be visible from"more homes. It was
pointed out to them that location variances had been granted when'lot was
exceptionally deep, but this is not the case here. R. Bugala moved to
grant the requested 4' side line variance and the 40' rear yard variance
for the location-of the tool shed, seconded by C. Remmel. Roll call on
motion: Bugala, Remmel, Helon, and Horvath, Nay. Motion failed to pass.
Variance denied.
9. Ernest Csire,,24216 Rosita Lane
Request for variance (1133.13). Request 6'7" rear yard variance for ad-
dition. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1163.01. Also request 5' var-
iance for distance between addition and garage. Violation of Ord. 62-33,
Section 1151.04-C.
? Chairman Retnmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
/ was administered to Mr, and Mrs. Csire and their contractor, Mr. Fransen.
?l It was clarified that this is an 18' deep family room. Dir. Remmel stated
that none of the other houses extended out that far; he asked if they would
consider a 14' deep room. This would not be financially feasible. The
Csire's believe that this room will appreciate the value of their home.
Mr. Remmel mentioned that addition would cut down on the prevailing
westerly winds. and aslced if they would reconsider reducing depth. It
was suggested that room could be changed to 18' long and 14' deep (a
variance would still be required). This might involve removing a kitchen
window. The Csires do not want to make a decision on this now. Law Dir-
ector M. Gareau exglained the criteria used to determinegranting a var'i-
ance. The Csires would prefer to continue request until the next-meeting.
10. Unfinished Furniture, 28951 Lorain F.d.
Req_uest .f_or variance (1133.13). Request 9 sq. ft. variance for wall sign.
Violation of Ord. 62-33; Section 1221.06. (Previous variance granted Feb.
2, 1983).
