Request variance to change copy on non- <br />conforming pole sign (2nd pole sign on property and location of sign). <br />Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1221.06. <br />Chairman Renunel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath- <br />was administered to Mr. Popella, the ownerm Building Commissioner Gundy <br />explained that the confirguration of the sign was being changed (it is pre- <br />r sently a circle and proposal is for a rectangle). Mr. Popella explained <br />that name of business cannot be seen from street. The picture he showed <br />is dif£erent from copy submitted to the Board; this sign will be 52" wide <br />and 72" high; name of dealership is included. R. Bugala moved to accept <br />the variance to change copy on a non-conforming pole sign, seconded by J. <br />Helon, and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />11. Robert and Kathryn Almquist, 23248 Stoneybrook Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request.12'10" rear yard variance for <br />two story addition. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1163.01. <br />Chairman Remmel.called all interested parties-before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr, and Mrs. Almquist who explained that they need <br />additional room to accommodate mother who will be moving in with them. <br />Included in the addition is an indoor pool which is needed for therapy. <br />Existing outdoor pool wi11 be removed. Mr. Bugala stated that thi,s was <br />an extremely large addition for the size of the lot and for the neighbor- <br />hood. House might not sell and could become a liability to the City. <br />The AlMquists are aware that they may be over-improving their property <br />but they want to remain in this area. Mr. Remmel stated that the addi- <br />tion without the pool would be more reasonable. R. Bugala moued to <br />approve the request for a 12'10" rear yard variance for a two story ad- <br />dition for Robert and Kathryn Almquist with the understanding that the <br />present pool is removed, seconded by E. Graves. Roll call on motion: <br />Bugala and Graves, Nay. Helon and Remmel, Aye. Motion failed to pass. <br />Variance denied. <br />12. Bruce D. Bluell, 4716 Lansing Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 130 sq. ft. variance for garage <br />area. Violation of Or. 62-33, Section 1151.04-C. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to Mr, and Mr.s. Bluell and neighbors, Mrs. Singer and <br />Mr. Cockerham. Neighbors have no objection. Mr. Bluell stated that they <br />had two cars. and one pick up truck which they want to put under cover. <br />Existing shed will be removed. Mr. Bluell was cautioned that he will need <br />20' between the house and garage if he ever adds to the rear of the house. <br />They are planning to add on to the side of the house in the future.
