The oath-
was administered to Mr. Popella, the ownerm Building Commissioner Gundy
explained that the confirguration of the sign was being changed (it is pre-
r sently a circle and proposal is for a rectangle). Mr. Popella explained
that name of business cannot be seen from street. The picture he showed
is dif£erent from copy submitted to the Board; this sign will be 52" wide
and 72" high; name of dealership is included. R. Bugala moved to accept
the variance to change copy on a non-conforming pole sign, seconded by J.
Helon, and unanimously approved. Variance granted.
11. Robert and Kathryn Almquist, 23248 Stoneybrook Dr.
Request for variance (1133.13). Request.12'10" rear yard variance for
two story addition. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1163.01.
Chairman Remmel.called all interested parties-before the Board. The oath
was administered to Mr, and Mrs. Almquist who explained that they need
additional room to accommodate mother who will be moving in with them.
Included in the addition is an indoor pool which is needed for therapy.
Existing outdoor pool wi11 be removed. Mr. Bugala stated that thi,s was
an extremely large addition for the size of the lot and for the neighbor-
hood. House might not sell and could become a liability to the City.
The AlMquists are aware that they may be over-improving their property
but they want to remain in this area. Mr. Remmel stated that the addi-
tion without the pool would be more reasonable. R. Bugala moued to
approve the request for a 12'10" rear yard variance for a two story ad-
dition for Robert and Kathryn Almquist with the understanding that the
present pool is removed, seconded by E. Mr. Bluell was cautioned that he will need
20' between the house and garage if he ever adds to the rear of the house.
They are planning to add on to the side of the house in the future.
