.. w :.
" PLANNING COMMISSION JANUARY 10, 1984 PAGE 4
Chairman Morgan appointed Mrs. Brown as the representative to the Land-
marks Commission. Mr. Gorris will serve as alternate.
VII. OLD BUSINESS:
Assistant Law Director Dubelko stated that regarding Ord. 83-137,discussed
at last meeting, he believes that wording should be changed from what was
suggested at the last meeting. He recommends adding a new Section after
1174.06,titled Rear Yards Abutting Streets, which should read "In the
event the rear yard of any property located in a Retail Business District
abuts any street, including a limited access highway, but excluding Inter-
state highways, a rear yard of at least fifty feet from that street shall
be maintained, in addition to the fifty foot front set back requirement
of Section 1174.02 of this code. No structure shall be maintained, goods
sold, merchandise displayed, nor business activity conducted within the
rear yard area. Such rear yard may be used for parking purposes only, and
shall not be used for the storage of automobiles or any vehicular equip-
ment." Commission agreed that this would eliminate problems in this
area.
Councilman Bierman introduced Councilman R. Tallon, Sr. who will be
serving as chairman of the BZD Committee. Chairman Morgan extended an
invitation to Councilman Tallon to attend the Planning Commission meetings
as former Councilman Woerpel had, since this had improved communications
between both groups.
VIII. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Mr. Gorris explained the purpose of the Land Use Committee to Councilman
Tallon and the need for North Olmsted to rejoin the Regional Planning
Commission. Members had received a letter regarding the naming of relocated S.R. 252.
Mrs. Brown stated that her first thoughtswere that the road should be
Great Northern Blvd. Ext. After some discussion, it was also suggested
that the road could be called Columbia Blvd since it will probably connect
with Columbia Road at the north (there are no construction plans on this
segment). Committee will study further.
IX. ADJOURNMENT:
J. Burns moved to excuse the absence of J. Roberts, seconded by T. Morgan,
and unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 p.m.
0, ?
T. M6rgan, Chairman
B. Oring, Recordi?fig Secretary
