?
. ?

PLANNING COMMISSION JUNE 26, 1984 _ PAGE 4
may be some improvement after completion. The Planning Commmission agrees
that the landscaping is not coming along as quickly as it should be and
does not appear to be adequate to screen the Service Department equipment
from Dover Center Rd. and from the rear yards of homes abutting it. Mrs.
Brown also believes that there should be some type screening along the
Lorain Road parking lot. The City should set an example for the community.
Mr. Burns has reviewed ordinances passed by Council on May 22nd: Ord.
84-32 arid 83-136 were passed as approved by Planning Commission originally.
Ord. 83-137 regarding rear yard set back of property abutting a street in
the rear was written in such a way that the old section (restricting rear
yards in other instances) was deleted. On March 27, 1983, Planning Com-
mission had made recommendations which would have rectified this; however,
the Ordinance had progressed_past_the.time.that.it.coul:d be reconsidered.
Mr..Burns sent_.a letter to-the Council on June 14th pointing.out the pro-
blem and Councilman Tallon has advised him.that new legislation is'in the_
process of being written. The Commission would like to eliminate this
lack of communication in the future.
At this point, Mrs: Kozial of Birch Circle addressed the Commission re-
garding the proposed rezoning of 18 acres of.Birch School property to -
General Retail in order to convert the school into an office building and
the school yard to a parking lot. Mrs. Kozial requested that planning Com-
mission take into consideration the burden that this rezoning would place
on the one hundred and five residents who surround the school property.
If..rezoned to General Retail, property could be used for any use permit-
ted in the General Retail.Area.
VII.I.. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
A letter will be.sent to"Council- President Boehtaer advising him that Mr. Burns
and Mr. Roberts will attend the Joint Committee for Long Range Planning.
Mrs. Brown would like someone to help her finalize report on name for
relocated SR252.
IX. ADJOURNMENT:
T. Morgan moved to excuse the absence of J. Roberts; seconded by J. Wixted,
and unanimously.approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 9;48 p.m.
T. Morgan, Chairman
?I C-11?
B. Oring,
ding Secretary
