? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES - JULY 24, 1984 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, B. Gorris, J. Brown, and T. Morgan <br />J. Wixted arrived at 8:05 p.m. , <br />Absent: E. Traczyk and J. Roberts <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, Building Commissioner E. <br />Gundy, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, Councilman R. <br />Bierman, and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />In the Minutes of July 109 1984, under item IX, motion should'be corrected <br />to include "...to excuse the absence of E. Traczyk and J. Roberts. B. <br />Gorris moved to approve the Minutes of July lOth with addition as noted, <br />seconded by J. Burns, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Rd., <br />Proposal to construct Phase 2. <br />Commission studied proposal in conjunction with the Architectural <br />Board of Review Minutes of July 18th. Mr. Tomsik explained that me- <br />chanical units on roof of addition are clear cut, and screening would <br />not really improve appearance. Parking conforms to code for churches,. <br />nothing in the code addresses parking requirements for special events <br />such as "Bingo" nights. There are some parking complaints pertaining <br />to "Bingo" nights, but there are legal remedies for this problem. B. <br />Gorris moved to approve the proposed addition to the Church of St. <br />Clarence as submitted, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Standard Qil Co., 23425 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to demolish and rebuild station on site. <br />Mr.IFillingim of Standard Oil presented plans. The Architectural Board <br />. has requested that a landscape plan be submitted to them at a later <br />meeting, and they also want the dumpsters screened. Pole sign and <br />three canopy signs were reviewed. Law Director Dubelko advised that <br />they could retain both existing non-conforming pole signs, if only faces <br />are being changed, Standard Oil wELs notified of this but still plan <br />to use only one pole sign at the corner so that they are in conformance. <br />Fire Department report stated "The Fire Department finds no problems <br />with the above plans. However, we would like to emphasize that the re- <br />covery sumps (inspection ports) be in tank farm for inspection. We <br />? <br />,/
