.
?
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
PLANNING COMMISSION
MINUTES - NOVEMBER 27, 1984 __
I. ROLL CALL:
Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
Present: J. Burns, B. Gorris, E. Traczyk, J. Wixted, J. Brown, and
T. Morgan.
Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gundy, Assistant Law Director J.
Dubelko, City Engineer J. Schaller and Recording Secretary
B. Oring.
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
J. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of November 13, 1984 as submitted,
seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously approved.
III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REOUESTS:
1) Amber Oaks Subdivision, Woodside Dr. and Deepwoods Way.
Proposal to install two signs in public right-of-way on Woodside Dr.
near intersection of k'alter Rd. and near intersection of Gessner Rd.
Building Comnissioner Gundy presented proposal to place two 4' by 3'
permanent development signs between the curb and the sidewalk on Woodside
Dr., one near Walter Road and one near Gessner Road. Mrs. V. Polito
explained proposal: signs will be 6' to 8' high; sign near Walter is pro-
posed for north east corner; sign near Gessner will be on south east
corner. Mr. Tuma of 24249 Gessner and M. Cabot of 4033 Walter were con-
cerned that signs might block view (after seeing proposal they had no
objections). Letter from Frederick Bower, Shore West Construction, sug-
gested that sign near Walter Rd. be moved across the street to the south
east corner where there is a buffer (block "A") between sidewalk and a-
jacent lot and also because the sublot on the north east corner is not
developed, tlie sign could be damaged during construction and also that
the future owner would have sign in front yard (sign on other side
would be adjacent to the side yard of house facing Walter). Mrs. Polito
believes that sign would look better at proposed location since it is
part of the development and location on opposite side of street is ad-
jacent to a older home facing Walter Rd. Assistant Law Director Dubelko
requested that the Commission table proposal so that the Law Department
can research the City's liability since sign is on the public right-of-
way.' He would also like proposal referred to the Safety Department.
J. Burns moved to refer the Amber Oaks Subdivision proposal to install
two signs in the public right-of-way to the Law Department and to the
Safety Department for their input, seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously
approved.
