ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW JULY 18, 1984 PAGE 2
Proposal to construct Phase 2. (Phase 1 approved by Planning
Commission on September 22, 1981 - Preliminary plans and parking
lot approved by Planning Commission October 28, 1980).
Mr. Tomsik presented revised plans for the 45' by 125' addition to
the rear of the existing parish hall. Building will be metal to
match the existing; however, buildings have been de5.igned so that
brick can be added when church is built. Roof will be a Carlisle
rubber membrane roof in a light gray color. Mechanical units on
the roof are not screened, however, they cannot be seen from Lorain
Road, only from rear which is Bradley Woods. It was noted that this
an engineered building and not pre-fabricated. Mr. Ebin would like
some screening of inechanical units. Board discussed possible screen-
ing, but no acceptable screening was suggested. J. Cavaluchi moved
to accept the plans as submitted, seconded by R. Mongello. Roll
call on motion: Cavaluchi and Mongello, Aye. S. Ebin, Nay.
c) North Olmsted Veterinary Hospital (R. Mongello), 23537 Lorain Rd.
Exterior alteration to existing building.
Exterior alterations proposed are: adding a wrap around mansard roof
(dark brown cedar shake shingles) on the front and a portion of the
side walls, applying beige dryvit over brick portion of building,
blocking in some windows, replacing door with a glass door trimmed
with aluminum and resealing remaining block walls. Mr. Ebin ques-
tioned structural details of roof; this will be corrected with the
building plans. S. Ebin moved to approve the plans as submitted,
seconded by J. Cavaluchi. Roll call on motion: Ebin and Cavaluchi,
aye. R. Mongello abstained. Signs were then discussed. Wall sign
will be black cast aluminum wall mounted letters and medical insignia.
Existing pole sign will be altered: poles will be cladded with wood
and a cedar shake roof (to match the building) will be placed over
the existing sign. Board finds the signs very acceptable as sub-
mitted.
d) Kacirek Funeral Homes (K. Illes), 29060 Lorain Rd.
Proposal to construct addition.
Addition will match existing; siding will be white vinyl (present
building is wood, but will be replaced with the vinyl at a later
date) with black roof and shutters. Mechanical units are in the
rear and wi11 be screened. Landscaping plan will carry out the pre-
sent landscaping. S. Ebin moved Lo approve the plans as submitted,
seconded by J. Cavaluchi, and unanimously approved.
e) Dunkin Donuts (R. Knighf), 26963 Lorain Rd.
Exterior renovation to existing doughnut shop.
Mr. R. Knight presented the plans. There will be no structural
changes to the building. Landscaping will be refurbished using the
same concept. Dr.ive-thru window will be,eliminated, area in front
of it will be sodded. Present pole sign will be relocated to point
at Lorain/Whitethorn intersection, landscape island at location of
existing pole sign will be eliminated and paved. Doors will be
