BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS JULY 6, 1983 PAGE 6 <br />20. C. & M. Fillmore, 4260 Dover Center Rd. <br />Request special permit to add to non-conforming dwelling (front set <br />back). Special permission required Ord. 62-33, Section•1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. <br />The oath was administered to Mr. & Mr. Fillmore. E. Graves moved <br />to grant the special permit, seconded by T. Restifo, and unanimously <br />approved. Special permit granted. <br />21. Marathon Petroleum Co., Lorain and Butternut Ridge Roads. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 45' front set back variance. <br />(on Lorain) for canopy. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1174.02. <br />Also request 18' side set back variance (on Butternut Ridge Rd.) <br />for canopy. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1174.03. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The <br />oath was administered to A. Rhodes and R. Barber of Marathon and G. <br />Baker, station manager. Board studied plans. Mr. Rhodes stated that <br />building was at 50' set back on Lorain and 25' set back on Butternut <br />Ridge. It would be impossible to cover pumps even if they relocated <br />them and conform to existing ordinances. The existing building will <br />be remodeled with the mansard matching the canopy at a cost of $75,000 <br />to $100,000. No additional signage is planned. The Board agreed <br />this would be a desirable alteration; however, Mr. Graves stated that <br />no direction has been given to the Board by Council pertaining to <br />these canopies. Mr. Barber stated that other variances had been granted <br />for other stations and that this variance will upgrade a prominent <br />corner in North Olmsted. R. Bugala moved to grant the variances, sec- <br />onded by E. Graves. Roll.call on motion: Bugala, Graves, Horvath, Nay. <br />Restifo and Remmel, Aye. Motion failed to pass. Variances denied. <br />8. Heard at meeting after case #6 - omitted from page 2 of Minutes. <br />Douglas L. Miller, 6608 Cypress Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 5' front set back variance <br />for addition. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1159.01. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The <br />oath was administered to Mr. Miller. Mr. Remmel questioned why ad-, <br />dition couldn`t be added on at back. Mr. Miller explained that they <br />would have to change the interior and move the patio. Mr. Restifo <br />pointed out that the house next door was in f ront of his house. C. <br />Remmel moved to grant the variance, seconded by T. Restifo. Roll <br />call on motion: Reminel, Nay. Restifo, Bugala, Graves, and Horvath, <br />Aye. Motion passed. Variance granted. <br />Mr. Remmel requested that the Building Department check on the Morales <br />remodeling at 6231 Bartona Work is going very slowley. <br />Board will not take a vacation in August. . <br />Meeting was adjourned at 9:25 p.m. . <br />? . <br />C. emmel, Chairman B.
