-?
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS FEBRUARY 2, 1983 PAGE 3
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board.
The oath was administered to Mr. Kortowich, Mr.'DeSalvo, and
other neighbors. -Mr. DeSalvo, representing his son, stated that
they objected to the variance since this is a new 5ubdivison and
there was no lot which is not buildable. They believe that a
house can be built without a variance. The Board agrees. E.
Graves moved to grant the variance, seconded by C. Remnel.
Roll call on motion: Graves, Remnel, Bugala, Horvath, and Restifo,
Nay. Motion fiald to pass. Variance denied.
.5. John & Stella Moga, property located at 27450 Butternut Ridge.
Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance to conduct a
' business (day care center) in a residential district. Violation
/ of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.01.
J Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board.
The oath was administered to Mr. and Mrs. Moga and Joyce Morian,
their real estate representative and to the adjacent neighbors
H. Caster and Mr. & Mrs. Dier. The Mogos plan to tear down an
existing barn and replace it with a day care center. They will
live in the house on the property. They are planning to upgrade
and fence the property. A variance had been granted in 1969 to
operate a ceramics business at that location. The Board was con-
cerned that this proposal, would increase traffic in an already
conjes.ted neighborhood and if the day care center went out of
business, the building could be used for another purpose. Letters
had been received from Councilman Bierman and Mr. Castor objecting
to the variance. The Board is'agreed that a commercial use should
not encroach in the residential area. C. Remmel moved to grant
the variance, seconded by E. Graves. Roll call on motion: Remmel,
Graves, Bugala, Horvath, and Restifo, Nay. Variance denied.
6. Metropolitan Typewriter (J. Mash), 25303 Lorain Rd.
- Request special permit (1231.02). Request special permit to
/ use non conforming pole sign (more than one pole sign on property).
? Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1221.06B. Special permission
required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board.
The oath was administered to Mr. Mash of Metropolitan Typewriter.
The present business is moving out and they will be taking over
the unit and, would like to use the pole sign. It was pointed
out that the facia signs at that location were visable from Lorain
Road. R. Bugala moved to grant .the variance, seconded by T.
Restifo. Roll call on motion: Bugala, Restifo, Graves, Horvath,
and Remmel, Nay. _,Motion failed to pass.
