ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW DECEMBER 21, 1983 PAGE 2
(a) Mr. Klopper and Mr. Arney, Architects, explained that the three story
building will be Terra brick (4_' x 8' utility size) with colored mortor,
and dryvit panels and canopies. Windows will be solar bronze insulated
glass with dark bronze anodized Amarlite frames. Mechanical units will
be enclosed in a penthouse of bronze vertical ribbed metal panels.
Building has been planned so that an addition can be constructed later.
S. Ebin moved to approve the building plans for the Fairview/North
Olmsted Medical Center as submitted, seconded by M. Case, and unani-
mously approved. At this point Mr. R. Gurchik of Fairview Hospital
arrived with the landscape plan which will include: grass tree lawn with
small area of fine stones next to curb; 20' landscape strip with trees
(two existing maples will remain) between sidewalk and parking area;
planting berm with trees will surround building; planting strip with
trees along fence on north property line; white pines and 6' fence and
gate will screen dumpster, and planting beds along driveway entrances
and signs. Tao 8' by 2' ground signs (one at each entrance are planned)
and planting area will be raised around signs. Signs will be lexan
panels in a dark bronze with a dark bronze frame and translucent white
backlighted letters. Pedestal may be brick, if cost is not prohibitive,
alternative would be bronze aluminium. A street number may be included
either on canopy or on signs. It was pointed out that only one ground
sign and one pole sign per lot was allowed by code. Board would prefer
two ground signs instead of one pole sign. There will be 4 rectangular
shaped"lamps with bronze poles in parking lot. S. Ebin moved to ap-
prove the landscape plans for the Fairview/North Olmsted Medical Center
including the parking lot lighting as submitted, seconded by M. Case,
and unanimously approved. S. Ebin moved to approve the ground sign
design as presented with the provision that signs meet the area re-
quirements as determined by the Building Department and ordinances, sec-
onded by M. Case, and unanimously approved.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
M. Case, Chairwo.man B. Oring, Recording Secretary
