r
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS JULY 15, 1982 PAGE 2
the elec:tronic equipmentwere vandalized, it could interupt the
cable T.V. service for up to 2 months: There has been minor damage
done to one oF the earth stations. Since the station handles
emergency broadcasts Ior Westlalce and North Olmsted this could
present serious problems. J. Boehmer, President of Council was
sworn in. He stated that barbed wire was used at several loca-
tions by the city, including Safety Town, and by the utilities to
protect their property. He stated that the Police Chief and the
Safety Director are in favor of the barbed wire at the West Shore
facility. Councilman D. McKay was then sworn in and asked if
they could use smooth wire to top the fence instead of barbed
wire. Tt was stated that it would not be a deterrent to anyone
who was trying to climb the fence. Mr. Salmon of Brookpark fence
explained that the barbed wire would be faced'out at a 45 degree
angle. There would be clearance from the ground to the first
bank of barbed wire of 76 to 77 inches. C. Remmel moved to grant
the variance for an 8' fence with barbed wire going out, seconded
by E. Graves, and unanimously approved.
The Board is going to discuss suggested Ordinances with the BZD
Committee of Council. There is concern about gazebos which are
not covered in the Ordinance; and not allowirig a 6` fence around
the entire yard, but limiting it to the pool area; and the increase
in solid wood fences. These will be discussed later.
E..Graves moved to excuse the absence of R. Bugala, seconded by L.
Horvath, and unanimously approved. ,
The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
C. Remmel, Chairman
B. Oring, $
ording Secretary
