Since the station handles <br />emergency broadcasts Ior Westlalce and North Olmsted this could <br />present serious problems. J. Boehmer, President of Council was <br />sworn in. He stated that barbed wire was used at several loca- <br />tions by the city, including Safety Town, and by the utilities to <br />protect their property. He stated that the Police Chief and the <br />Safety Director are in favor of the barbed wire at the West Shore <br />facility. Councilman D. McKay was then sworn in and asked if <br />they could use smooth wire to top the fence instead of barbed <br />wire. Tt was stated that it would not be a deterrent to anyone <br />who was trying to climb the fence. Mr. Salmon of Brookpark fence <br />explained that the barbed wire would be faced'out at a 45 degree <br />angle. There would be clearance from the ground to the first <br />bank of barbed wire of 76 to 77 inches. C. Remmel moved to grant <br />the variance for an 8' fence with barbed wire going out, seconded <br />by E. Graves, and unanimously approved. <br />The Board is going to discuss suggested Ordinances with the BZD <br />Committee of Council. There is concern about gazebos which are <br />not covered in the Ordinance; and not allowirig a 6` fence around <br />the entire yard, but limiting it to the pool area; and the increase <br />in solid wood fences. These will be discussed later. <br />E..Graves moved to excuse the absence of R.
