ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gorris called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, R. Perla, J. Prokasy, J. Brown, and B. Gorris <br />Absent: J. Roberts and T. Morgan <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gundy, Assistant City <br />Engineer D. McDermott, Councilman D. Woerple <br />and Recording Secretary B. Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />M. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of February 22, 1982 as <br />presented, seconded by J. Burns, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(1) Spudnuts, Inc.; 26963 Lorain Rd. <br />Addition and renovation of existing building for doughnut <br />shop. <br />Building Commissioner Gundy explained the plans and the <br />members studied the variance which was granted by the Board <br />" of Zoning Appeals on March 3, 1982. Architect Fred Leonard <br />and Mr. D. Brooks represented Spudnuts. There will be a- <br />small addition on the front of the building and the entire <br />building will be renovated, trash receptacles will be screened, <br />parking conforms to the.Ordinance, there will be seating for <br />20 people and twelve parking spaces. There will be one exit <br />off Whitethorn Avenue which will be the exit for the drive- <br />thru window and two drives off Lorain Road which will be <br />35 feet apart. Mr. Gorris stated that one neighbor called <br />him because they objected to the pick un.window on the'White- <br />thorn Avenue side. It was explained that the pick up window <br />could only be on that side and that traff ic would have to <br />use the Whitethorn drive as an exit since there was no room <br />to drive around the building. The Commission questioned the <br />advisability of using both of the Lorain Road drives as exit <br />and entrance. They agreed that it would be better to have <br />the western most drive as an entrance only and the eastern <br />' most drive as exit only. Councilman D. Woerple also believed <br />that this would improve the traffic flow. Assistant City <br />Engineer D. McDermott stated that the Engineering Department <br />would like additional right-of-way at the point where White- <br />. thorn meets Lorain Road in order to improve the existing
