REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
The Minutes of April 27, 1982 were not available for approval.
III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS:
Special Hearing continued from April 27, 1982:
Pick '.n Pay Food Palace, Great Northern Plaza (north side of
main Drive, east of Putt Putt Miniature Golf-Course)
Proposal to construct grocery store.
Chi Chi's Restaurant, Great Northern Shopping Plaza (north
side of main drive, west of Putt Putt Miniature Golf Course).
Proposal-to construct restaurant.
Revised plans for *he sidewalks:and walkways had been-distri-
buted to the-members prior to the meeting. Mr. Richland and
Mr. Rake,.representing the developer, explained that the side-
walk along Lorain Rd. will.be replaced.by a new sidewalk to
permit access to the RTA stop and will be extended 'south at
the present crosswalk to provide a path to the paved area
running parallel to Brookpark Rd. The sidewalk will be con-
crete and the walkway through the parking_lot will be asphalt..
and not raised. A pedestrian access from the existing Plaza
on the south to the new section on the north is not being
planned at this time. It was pointed out that access to all
stores in the mall and in other shopping centers was through
the parking area, and such a raised sidewalk would cause pro-
blems with maintenance and parking. The walkway planned to
Pick 'n Pay runs behind the parking area which is adjacent to
Brookpark Rd. Mr. Richland pointed out that this is,employee
parking and will not be an in and out situation. After some
discussion it was agreed that the-walkway behind the parking
spaces would be moved as close to the building as possible
and would be marked in some way to define it.
