Some shrubry has
been planted recently and more is planned and a1so, Mr.
Cook stated this additional storage area would help them
keep the lot cleaned. Mrs. Jordan still would prefer a
fence, since it will take some time for the shrubs to grow
enou_gh to effect ively screen' the lo.t. Chairman Gorris quest-
ioned if the plans as presented were sufficient. Mr. Gundy
stated that he could evaluate these plans according to State
Building Codes and City Ordinances quite easily since it is
a simple addition. Mr. Morgan would like the Architectural
Board to evaluate the need for a fence. B. Gorris moved to
refer the proposed addition for the Lorain American Gas
Station proposal to the Architectural Board of Review and
also would like a clarification of the Ordinance on vehicle
storage from the Law Department, seconded by T. An existing garage (24' x 26') will be
demolished and the road will be moved over and approximately
24 spaces will be added to the immediate parking area, and
additional parking will be added across the street. The
median strip on Country Club Blvd. will have to be changed,
and this could cause problems with the entrance to St.
Richa'rd's Church parking area. The median strip could be
removed at this point and leave a wider opening. Mr. Roberts
suggested a walkway from the rear of the bank building which
will tie into the new parking area and the existing strip
center walk. Mr. Herschman will take this up with the
Great Northern Shopping Center Management. The Commission
would like the City Engineering to review this proposal
with respect to traffic flow. T. Morgan moved to refer the
Community Building proposal to change parking area to the
Engineering Dept for review, specifically, but not limited
to: a) traffic flow pattern, b) median strip alterations
on Country Club Blvd. keeping in mind the existing drive-
way from the church property on the southwest corner c)
the pedestrian walkway recommendation f rom the bank pro-
perty of the new parking lot on the southwest (rear) corner
of Children's Palace and that walk to be tied into the ex-
isting strip walkway. These recomnendations are to be
sent to the Safety Department for review with regard to
safety vehicle operation, seconded by J. Roberts, and
unanimously approved.
