a <br />CIT'Y OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 14, 1982 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gorris called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, R. Perla, J. Roberts, J. Brown, and B. Gorris <br />T. Morgan arrived at 8:08 p.m: <br />Absent: J. Prokasy <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner <br />E. Gundy, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, <br />Councilmembers D. Woerpel, Y. Petrigac and R. <br />Bierman, R. Parry, Architectural Board of Review <br />Member, and Recording Secretary B. Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Roberts moved to approve the Minutes of July 27, 1982, as sub- <br />mitted, seconded by J. Burns, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(1) Signs : <br />The signs were studied and discussed in conjunction with the <br />Architectural Board of Review Minutes of August 18, 1982. In <br />reference to sign (d), C. Iiixson, Bob Cutler Signs, advised <br />the Commission that the wiring is already underground and <br />regarding sign (g) that the wiring is.connected to another <br />building on the property and if an agreement cannot be <br />worked out with the_leasee of that building, they would <br />have to dig up 190` of asphalt in order to bring service <br />in from underground. Mr. Hixson thinks the problen can be <br />resolved before the BZD hearing. R. Perla moved to approve <br />the signs (a through g) with the conditions of the Architec- <br />tural Board of Review, seconded by J. Burns, and unanimously <br />approved. (2): Sears Cleaners; 5000 Great,Northern Exterior alteration.to existing Sears Store. <br /> <br />Building Commissioner Gundy explained the proposal to convert <br />a small warehouse portion of the existing Sears store to a <br />dry cleaning shop. A door and a window will be added on <br />the east elevation and there will be no access from inside <br />the store. T. Morgan moved to refer the Sears` Cleaners <br />proposal to the Architectural Board of Review, seconded by <br />J. Roberts, and unanimously approved.
