ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW JUNE 16, 1982 PAGE 4
(c) Csapo Dental Lab (Corna and Associates), 25710 Lorain Rd.
Proposal to construct Dental Laboratory
Mr. Diaquilla explained that the exterior wall will be
sprayed on stucco (or dryvit) over drywall an.d styrofoam with
white frame windows. The building will be split level to
conform to the slope of the property. The roof will be
shingled with woocl:. or heavy asphalt in light shades of
gray. Mr. Parry stated that the adjacent building has cedar
shake roof, and he believes that a cedar shake roof on this
structure would.be more compatibTe,-A descrepency in the
plan shows that the sloped roof in the front of the build-
ing is shown with skylights on the east elevation; however
those skylights do not appear on the south elevation of the
building. That feature will be very important in viewing
the building from the street. The Board feels that the
placement of those skylights should be carefully considered
by the Architect for the exterior aesthetic consideration
as well as the interior lighting. Also there is a des-
crepency between the east curved wall on the south eleva-
tion.of the building on the plans and on the rendering. Two
parking spaces at the southwest would require backing out
for some distance and since there is more than adequate park-
ing, it was suggested that these could be eliminated. S.
Ebin moved,to approve the plans as submitted with the recom-
mendations that the roof be cedar shingles somewhat compat-
ible to the adjacent building, that the architect carefully
study the placement of the skylights in the sloped roof to
the south and that the two parking spaces on the southwest
corner of the property be eliminated, and further moved that
the sign as presented be accepted, seconded by R. Parry, and
unanimously approved.
(b) Clark Oil Co. Resumed from earlier in the meeting.
Mr. Fix re-presented the plans with the non-applicable por-
tions crossed off the plans. The new upper facia will be
federal brown aluminium and the glass will remain on the
lower portion. There will be a new building sign, but the
canopy will have no signage and total signage will be re-
duced. The chain link fence on the east property line will
be removed, and a new guard rail will be installed. R.
Parry moved to approve, the Clark Oil Co. proposal as pre-
sented, seconded by M. Case and unanimously approved.
Councilwoman Y. Petrigac from the BZD Committee of Council
advised the Board of some of the goals of the committee: to
include extra plantings wherever possible, to plan for the
proposed Industrial Park, to clean up abandoned pole signs,
to change Ordinances pertaining to fences in the General
Retail District. She is also concerned about the possibility
